We're okay with not so perfect, but this was totally unacceptable. Especially for our anniversary weekend. Don't waste your time with the gas furnace. Use the one behind the living room chair by the kitchen.A major deep clean was needed. We were super uncomfortable during our stay. Some issues include: Musty/pet smell. There was dust hanging from walls, large cobwebs and dust in the skylight above the the bed, the bedding had a clump of dust and hair in addition to traces of animal hair. The linens in the linen shelf were also a mixed bag of cleanliness. There was CHEWED GUM on the linen shelf. DISGUSTING. The bathroom towels seemed new but never washed so they were shedding on us. There's no washer/dryer in the unit, so we couldn't fix these issues ourselves. The showerhead was grimy and had build up and the shower door track was disgusting. The kitchen items we used had to be cleaned before use. The lamps in the living room have a button on the head to turn on, and the lamp heads were also grimy to the touch. The living room throw blankets were unwashed, smelly, and had hair on/in them. The bathroom window was left open so it was freezing and took forever to warm up.The hot tub was nice. Sleeping under the skylights was special! We would have appreciated the parking pass being left in the cabin for us - so as not to have had to drive to Gualala and back for that after what was already a long drive. And the cabin was 46 degrees F when we arrived! The gas fireplace is lovely but took nearly 6 hours to get us up above 60…. Cozy living room with lots of windows. WiFi is very fast and TV had plenty of streaming apps. Kitchen fully loaded. Bedroom is upstairs loft so be prepared to climb. The skylight over the master bed is incredible because through it you can see the stars at night and the pine tree tops in the day. The recreation centers are great! Loved staying in the hike-in cabin-- old Sea Ranch charm but with all of the amenities. Clean, easy, beautiful, and restorative! My only dislike was finding the local office for a parking pass, it was several miles out of the way and was a bit scary to access behind a strip mall late in the evening. With the cabin being all set up, including a running fire, when I arrived-- I think it could be possible that the parking passes be inside the property upon arrival. Thank you! ##### Melanie R. The need for clear communication. The property was fine for 2 people and in a nice location. However, we did not appreciate being bounced around between VRBO and VACASA. In addition, and even more difficult was the fact that our understanding was that this property could sleep 6\. A loft walk in cabin....that is a joke. We were going to bring our grandchildren and possibly their parents at one point based on the "sleep 6" description. One bed in the loft and 2 bunkbeds in the stairwell would barely accommodated 4 of us and would have at great discomfort. Fortunately, out grandchildren could not come with us. The main and only bedroom situated upstairs and the one and only bathroom downstairs for 2 people in their 70s presented difficulties as well. In addition to the property not fitting the description, the "hidden" costs were mind blowing. It would have been nice to hear about the "Owner Fees, Service Fees," etc before giving out Visa information. The gas stove was labeled out of order and even though we were told about it when we arrived, we were also told that it would be taken care of....it never was.
