About this property

Sea Ranch 3BR ocean-view home steps to Bluff Trail — fireplace & courtyard

  • Summary:

Soaring ceilings and windows at every turn frame the ocean, meadow, and passing wildlife at this split-level home with the Bluff Trail across the road and Stengel Beach a short walk away. Coffee happens in the enclosed garden courtyard; evenings gather at the stone fireplace. Sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms.

    The Space:

Soaring ceilings and large windows at every turn bring in the surroundings of this ocean view home in Sea Ranch. With the magnificent, oceanfront Bluff Trail across the road and Stengel Beach within a short walk, this home is both a serene and memorable escape on the Northern California Coast.

Enter by way of a garden courtyard, an enclosed space where you read and sip your coffee in the mornings, grill in the afternoons, and find sun and shelter if the bluff-top winds pick up. The interior has a split-level floor plan, with the bedrooms on the wings to the left and right and the main living area straight ahead. Admire classic Sea Ranch style in the walls of natural wood, the inviting stone fireplace, and plentiful windows that frame the ocean, the meadow, and the wildlife that frequent both.

Down a few steps from the living room are the ocean view dining room, the kitchen, and the wood-burning stove that sits between them. The kitchen is outfitted with ceramic dinnerware, natural wood cabinetry, and sleek stainless steel appliances that include a French-door refrigerator and a dishwasher.

At night, you can watch incredible sunsets, gather around the TV in the living room for a Netflix favorite, and retire to one of three bedrooms. There's an ocean view primary suite, a guest suite, and third bedroom with access to the adjacent hallway bathroom.

    OUTDOOR LIVING

Step outside to the deck -- your private courtyard. Fire up the gas grill and enjoy a barbecue with the sounds of nature and your dinner music.

    SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

Spread out across 3 bedrooms -- the master features a king bed for a truly restful night. Additional sleeping includes 1 queen bed. 3 bedrooms sleep 6.

    The Neighborhood:

The Sea Ranch is a one-of-a-kind coastal community on the Sonoma Coast, where miles of trails wind through meadows, forests, and along ocean bluffs. Nearby highlights include Shell Beach tidepools (a short 0-minute walk), The Sea Ranch Lodge restaurant, lounge and café (a short 3-minute walk), Black Point headland trails (2-minute drive). Explore over Sea Ranch's 50 miles of trails, discover tidepools at low tide, swim in heated community pools, and end the day with dinner at The Sea Ranch Lodge. Stock up in Gualala, just 10 minutes north, where you'll find grocery stores, restaurants, a hardware store, and gas. Bodega Bay is a beautiful drive for fresh seafood.

    Getting Around:

Sea Ranch is about 2.5 hours north of San Francisco -- take Highway 101 to Highway 1 for one of California's most scenic coastal drives. The nearest airport is Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) in Santa Rosa, roughly 90 minutes east. A car is the way to go for exploring the area.

    Other Things to Note:

Exterior lighting is minimal by design to preserve the stunning dark sky -- bring a flashlight for evening walks and enjoy some of the best stargazing on the California coast.

December through April is whale season. You may spot gray whales breaching right from the bluff trail nearby. Wildflower season (April-June) transforms the coastal bluffs into a tapestry of color -- worth an extra walk on the trails. Summer offers long days and warm afternoons, though the iconic Sonoma Coast fog often rolls in at sunrise and clears by noon.
