Fishing Trip
Great locations for fishing Down East. Property was as expected. Very comfortable set up if you understand where you are. Furnished very nicely, but needed a few maintenance issues which I called the caretakers about and they said would be addressed. Outside power outlets not working so charging your boat had to be done by running extention cord inside. Table leg loose on main coffee table. TV wasn't working but they got that going day of call. Fair size hole/depression on right side of Drive that needs to be filled in. Stepped in that and tweaked my back, could honestly hurt someone if wrong person takes a fall. Honestly a great set up as a base camp for exploring the area. Bring plenty of drinking water, as noted a well stocked Dollar General just up the road. Had a great time with my daughter and the lodgings were very cozy!

The house was pretty sufficient for me and my dog, the water pump did go out so I didn't have water for a bit. Be sure to pack bug spray, my ankles got lit up while taking the dog for a walk, but everything else was very relaxing and location to cedar Island beach which is awesome is great and a quick ferry ride from Harker's Island to Cape Look Out and the water front towns of Beaufort and Morehead City are a must. Also the new Restaurant Wild Wills Revenge is good

Nice comfortable little house
We had a nice one month stay at the Sealevel cottage. The house is comfortable and clean with the basic essentials for feeling right at home. Beds were comfortable and the area is quiet for peaceful sleep. The outside is nice, but due to the mosquitoes and no see-ums outdoor activity is fairly limited. The walk to the water is nice and just across the street. It’s not really water or beach you would want to get into, but fun for the dogs. There is a washing machine and dryer with laundry soap, which is a great benefit. Some things to consider: Sealevel is quite out of the way of most tourist attractions. Driving ranges from 1/ 2 hour to a few hours. The closest Walmart is in Morehead City which is about a half hour drive. The water is well water and not recommended for drinking. It’s fine for showering and clean up, but make sure you bring enough water for drinking with you. There is a Dollar General just down the road for the little things you need. Fire place and gas heaters are only available in winter months, but the AC works nicely for keeping the house cooler. The neighbors are friendly with a large off leash dog that likes to visit. Overall very nice and peaceful place in a quiet part of town. Communication was good with check ins to make sure we had everything we needed. Great place if you’re into fishing and boating.

Seashell House
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this house. Everything was within reasonable driving distance and made us feel like we were secluded which was what we wanted. The decorations were beautiful and the house itself was cute. The only bad thing I would have to say is that the property does not look like it is deep-cleaned or properly cleaned enough. We found a used bandaid under the bed in the main bedroom and some of the things that were supposed to be cleaned by the vacationers, we found were the complete opposite like for example the grill wasn't clean . The sheet that welcomes you in also said that there was supposed to be bottled water for our use but we couldn't find it. That wasn't a big thing though as we brought our own. Other than that, it was a great vacation.

Very cute
Cute and quaint. There was an issue with cleanliness, but the owner was incredibly gracious and helped to fix the problem. Apparently the normal housekeeper was unavailable and the owners did not know it had not been properly cleaned. The decor is lovely and quaint.

Cutest Cottage
We loved this adorable cottage. Owners provide a bit of everything in case you forget things. The house is clean and inviting. Stores are a bit of a hike, about 20 minutes, and the Cedar Island beach is just idyllic. It’s also about 20 minutes away. There’s really only one road so it’s extremely easy to navigate. We absolutely adored everything about our stay at Seashell Cottage.

Fun getaway
We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was perfect for us, somewhere to sleep and eat, nothing fancy. It was only 20 minutes from beautiful Cedar Island and right by the ferry to Cape Lookout National Seashore. We took the ferry to Ocracoke and really enjoyed that too.

Away from the hustle and bustle!
We really enjoyed staying here. Quiet street, but close to the water and a park. Lots of room under the covered patio to enjoy being outside. We drove to Davis and went over to the outer banks on the ferry. No crowded beaches this far down! We had a1/4 mile to ourselves. The shower had great pressure and was nice. As mentioned in by others the water did have a beachy smell. Not to drink for sure but decent for other things. The only minor thing we found was the furniture was pretty worn out. We're a little older and found it hard to get up after sitting down on the couch. It wasn't real comfortable. Good thing we didn't spend much time in the house watching tv. lol

We were looking for more than a hotel but less than a giant rental house.
This property was perfect. It's on a quiet street. Completely stocked with appliance and items for convenience. BBQ grill ready to go, ice maker, pots, pans, plates , COFFEE MAKER :). A home away from home. 19 miles from the Cedar Island beach and Ferry to Ocracoke. 45 minutes to Atlantic Beach. 37 minutes to Cape Lookout Ferry on Harkers Island. Communication with owner excellent.

Wonderful stay close enough but out of the way
This small town has essentially nothing but a Dollar General but you’re 20 minutes to the ferry to okracoke, 30 minutes to Harkers Island.. not too far from anything but out of the way enough you can ride your bikes down residential *non touristy* roads and really feel in it. The house is beautifully decorated and although slightly outdated and a shower head that needs to be replaced soon (sprays a little bit of everywhere) the home is perfectly inviting. There is a yard to the side of the house to walk your dogs around in and a small porch out there. In the front is the main porch (carport) area and it has a wood burning stove (which was awesome to hear the wood burning while hanging out in the cool outside air on the many chairs) and a charcoal egg grill thing. There’s decent Wi-Fi, comfortable beds and everything a kitchen needs to cook or make whatever you bring. They even provided free bottled water due to their water being salty beach well water - well that’s what happens when you’re right next to the water. They had a review saying this was gross but as an NC resident, I already expected it since it’s at the beach and had packed my own water, but them providing water was very thoughtful. Also, minor inconvenience was that the washer seemed to be broken but honestly it could also very well be that I just don’t know how to use that one and I’m crazy. I never decided if it was me or the washer that had problems. We closed off one room and didn’t use it since it was just my husband and I and our dogs but the room we stayed in (the bigger of the two) was super comfy. The room was very well decorated. The only tv was in the bedroom but that’s fine- we’re on vacation and not watching tv anyway but the Wi-Fi worked well enough to watch whatever we wanted on our phones in the bed if we wanted to. Overall it was an amazing stay. My husband and I had a great time. Our dogs loved it and were safe and happy and I definitely plan on going back again.

My daughter and I were very pleased with our stay at the cottage overall. The water smell was really not pleasing however. I didn't want to wash clothes there. Even though the water is drinkable, I doubt that anyone would. It is a shame because otherwise , everything was as advertised.

Fall break 2021
We enjoyed our stay here for a long weekend. It was nice to have close access to a boat ramp for our boat and have space to park our boat at the property. Cedar island beach was a nice place to take our dogs for walks and playing in the water. It’s about a 10 mile drive and was not crowded at all. The kitchen is equipped to make some basic meals which is nice since it’s a fairly remote area. Also convenient to have a dollar store just down the road for things you might have forgotten or need for cooking. Neighborhood is safe and quiet. Only downsides were mosquitos (common in this area) and not being able to walk to water/beach access.
