Set in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, this terraced cottage is in an ideal place to explore the beauty of the National Park both on foot, by bicycle or by car. It has a rear patio with a sunny aspect, outdoor seating, as well as a front pebbled area with seating and views of Pen-y-Ghent. Situated on the Pennine Way between Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent, the property makes an ideal base for those wishing to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge. The Settle-Carlisle railway runs through the village, and the occasional steam train can be spotted as well. Settle boasts a variety of independent shops, pubs and restaurants, along with a swimming pool and golf course just 5 miles away. A little closer to home, there are two pubs in the village just a short stroll away. Shop and restaurant 5 miles, pub 500 yards. The bedroom layout worked perfectly for us, with plentiful bathrooms as well as lots of space. The views of Pen-y-ghent were unanticipated and breathtaking, and Horton is a lovely village with a nice play park and river. Lots of great places (Ribblehead, Malham, Settle) in very easy reach, and I ran around the Three Peaks course from the door which was a highlight. Would recommend, so clean and very tasteful. Well appointed and easy access whenever you arrive. The location worked well with an endless choice of walks and excellent view from front of house. The only problem was that the terraces are not labelled so we knocked on the wrong door because the given code did not work on the key safe, as it shouldn't have as it was the wrong house!
