Lakefront Paradise Out Your Back Door - Perfect for extended families or groups

Our cottage actually consists of two separate units, rented as one; perfect for extended families or groups, providing a unique and spacious setting. Each unit has its own entrance, connected on the covered front deck. The lower level has one bedroom with a king bed. There is also a sleeper couch in the living room, featuring a comfortable memory foam mattress. (no blackout curtains in living room). Full kitchen, completely outfitted with pots, pans and cookware. Dining table seats 4. Full bath. Large deck with gas grill.
The upstairs has two bedrooms; one with a queen bed, the other having a queen and a single. Kitchenette with table seating 4. Small balcony overlooking the lake.
Kayaks are available for our guests to explore Bear Lake. Sorry, there is no fishing.
After a long day out and about, visit with your family and friends around the lakeside fire pit.

Stunning lakefront property close to Seward
Our family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, so much so that we didn’t want to leave! Cathy was an absolute pleasure to deal with and always quick to respond to my questions. The house was immaculate and had many thoughtful and welcoming touches. My teens enjoyed their “separate” space upstairs but there was more than enough room for us to hang out together downstairs. We made use of the kayaks and had so much fun watching the eagles and salmon. Seward was just a short drive away when we wanted to head into town. I can’t say enough about this property. It was by far our favorite rental ever!

Lovely lake view, even at the end of "shoulder season"!
Great property that has everything you need and nothing you don't. I came here with my dad for a short father-daughter trip and we loved it. Would love to come back with the whole family - this would be a perfect place for kids and adults alike.

Location, location!
Our family of 6 adults and 3 kids stayed for 4 days at this beautiful lakefront home. We found the 2 apartment setup worked very well for us with the family with 2 younger ones staying downstairs. The house was tastefully decorated with comfortable furnishings. The kitchens were well equipped. We ate dinners on the porch watching loons and eagles. We all used the kayaks each day with a bear sighting on one paddle and families of ducks and loons every day. The hosts were very easy to deal with, answering questions before arrival and immediately replacing a tank for the grill. The home let us really enjoy the great outdoors of Alaska. I highly recommend this home.

Amazing Cabin on Bear Lake
My family and I had an awesome time in the Seward area and this cabin was clean, functional and had the most amazing view on Bear Lake. We saw moose, loons and other wildlife. Would definitely recommend this place. We had 9 people and it worked great!

Awesome property, had everything you need for an extended stay. Beautiful setting on the lake and everything you need from kayaks to coolers and anything you need. Beds were extremely comfortable and had plenty of sleeping area for a large party. Owners were very very nice and took great care of us. Highly highly recommend. All we could have asked for.

Wonderful in every way
Just what we needed. From kayaking, hiking on the trail, hanging out by the fire pit or just having a cup of tea enjoying the view, the home has it all, even the little rainy weather couldn't dampen our mood. Definitely will be returning!

Amazing home in Seward!
My family loved our time at the cabin in Seward. The location couldn’t be more perfect. The gorgeous lake in the backyard with the mountain views all around was better than we could have imagined. The kayaks and the fire pit made our stay so enjoyable. The town of Seward was just 5 minutes away. The cabin itself was well taken care of with all the amenities we needed. We would totally go again! Loved it!

Lakefront Paradise
Lakefront paradise is a perfect place to stay just outside of Seward. Six adults and two children stayed, using the whole property. We cooked most meals in the well equipped home. The house is very comfortable and had anything needed.

This property truly exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail the owners have put into this home was fabulous....from firewood available (and even a cart to carry it to the firepit)....to marshmellow sticks and kayaks to use for the beautiful lake. This was a highlight for our (out of state) guests. We were so blessed to enjoy a couple of nights here and would have loved to have stayed longer. The location is very convenient to Seward, yet super private and so much more relaxing than a hotel. It was perfect for our family. Thank you Catherine and Tom. We definitely hope to return.

Great views and wonderfully equipped house
Our family of four adults and an infant enjoyed the house. My husband and I took the upper level; our son, daughter-in-law, and infant grandson had the lower unit. The space and privacy provided by the two separate units on two floors worked out well. We gathered together for dinner in the ground floor unit, taking advantage of the big kitchen, dishwasher, and outside barbecue. The clothes washer/dryer in the lower unit added to the convenience. The views of the lake and mountains were very pretty from both levels. The kitchen amenities on the upper level gave us flexibility to eat breakfast earlier than our son's family. The bathroom upstairs was very spacious, with a large shower. The downstairs bathroom was a bit more crowded because it had the washer/dryer. The house was very clean, well equipped, and tastefully decorated. Dishes and pots/pans were complete sets; plenty of thick, quality towels in both units. My husband and daughter-in-law enjoyed the provided kayaks & equipment on our last evening. Catherine was very responsive to questions and booking logistics were smooth. The house was a short drive from Seward, local Safeway, day cruise docks, and Exit Glacier. We had a wonderful 4 night stay.

A spectacular location and an amazing home!

This lakefront log home comes with stunning lake and mountain View’s. My kids had a wonderful time exploring the lake on the kayaks. provided. The house served as a perfect base for exploring the Seward Area (5-10 minutes drive). There is a beautiful trail right down the street and a salmon facility within walking distance. The owners are so thoughtful in their attention to detail in meeting the needs of their guests . The house is perfect for two families or extended families as there are two units in one house. We cannot wait to return as this property is truly an Alaskan paradise!

Perfectly quite and picturesque
Our family really enjoyed our stay. The house was spacious and it was great to have some food staples in the house upon our arrival. Everyone said their beds were comfortable and the separated levels allowed for more privacy for each couple. The only disappointment was that we could not fish outside our cabin right at the lake 50 feet from the cabin.

Amazing propert
I can't say enough good things about this property. The house is really nice, with comfortable beds, internet and cable (and an amazing view of the mountains and the lake). Our favorite part was sitting on the lake by the fire pit each night. It's a secluded and quiet location, but within 10 minute drive of restaurants, the waterfront area and downtown. It's also close to Exit Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park. My daughter kept saying "I wish we could stay here another week".

Fantastic choice in Seward Alaska
Our family of 9 (multigenerational) spent 4 days at the Lakefront Paradise in June 2017. The property is lovely, as described, and larger than the pictures would imply. No one felt cramped. The cottage was well appointed. The owner (Carolyn) was kind and immediately attentive to our needs. We rented a canoe from a local outfitter during out stay. Enjoyed every moment watching bald eagles from the deck, and frying up local seafood in the kitchen. Watched the salmon running (just down the road) every day. Kids loved it. Huge success. Highly recommended .

Fantastic cabin for a getaway!
I don't normally write reviews but I wanted to add a few overall thoughts of our great stay up in Seward. The house is just perfect, situated right on Bear Lake and away from the busy downtown just enough. There were tons of spawning salmon just steps from the deck and we had a small bonfire both nights of our stay. There were four of us fishing and we made dinner each night there at the cabin - kitchen is equipped with everything you'll need. The house can be divided too with two kitchens and separate entries but we just used the bottom floor for making dinner, enjoying wine and watching TV after a long day of catching halibut and salmon. The house was very clean and they even had a welcome sign out front for us. I'd highly recommend the house for anyone looking for a great place to stay. Why stay at a hotel if you have more two or more needed rooms - this place is cheaper and has a real 'at home' feel. We left a few items in our hurry to get back to the airport and the owner was so kind that she mailed them back to us in a sturdy and protected box. Thank you!
