Any basic rooms are old, outdated, & down the street, across the road, & up a steep hill. Even most of the newer rooms are across the road from the beach. The resort is spread out across 3 separate buildings so groups will likely be split up as ours was. Left early as our room was so uncomfortable, noisy, & lacking in amenities. Pool area lacks shade & adequate seating; it’s also super slippery and our group had more than one fall injury. Bathroom is also super slippery when wet & shower gets the entire room wet. Sadly was a disappointment. For the price, I’d recommend another resort in the area." The views are really nice as the hotel hugs the cliffs around shark bay. This means going up and down the hill and there are many steps etc. This was fine for me. We had one of the new private pool rooms which was very modern and nice. The older parts of the hotel do show the age a bit. The staff were nice but we had trouble getting more water on our last day. The breakfast was ok, I can only say it was not as good as other similar hotels. The hotel is not close to the main drag so a 400 baht taxi is needed. This was not a big problem for us just an FYI. The hotel is advertised as a 5 star hotel on Expedia but it's not its a 4 star. Overall I was happy with the hotel. Its got great views which is was i wanted. The room we had was very large and modern. It really depends what you're after.
