The beautiful white sand beaches that make Siesta Key the #1 beach in the US are not even a five-minute stroll away. Siesta Key Village and the famous 3 miles of the softest 99.9% quartz sand beaches draws thousands to enjoy the island life. This two story, 4 bedroom 3 1/2 bathroom home features a huge heated pool with spa and an incredible outdoor living space for relaxing to the soothing sounds of the pools water features or livening things up and entertaining your family and guests. The property is private and secluded from neighbors and surroundings by a wall. As you enter through the front door on the main level, you step into the family room furnished with comfortable sofas and equipped with a 75” flatscreen TV. Moving on through French doors, you enter into the dining area with seating for 6 and an open chef's kitchen with an additional breakfast nook for two over-looking the pool. The kitchen is equipped with 4-piece stainless steel appliances accompanied by various small appliances and cooking tools. Adjacent to the dining and kitchen areas, there is a living room perfect for reading or taking a rest while conversing with the appointed chef(s) of the night. Moving on further through the home, there are two guest bedrooms, which share the adjacent bathroom. One bedroom is furnished with queen size bed and has ample storage and walk-in closet space for unpacking and making yourself at home. The second bedroom, though slightly smaller, is furnished with a full size bed, small desk, and access to closet space. Secluded from the guest bedrooms and main living areas is the quiet owner's retreat area of the master suite. This large bedroom is furnished with a king size bedroom set and equipped with 55” flatscreen TV. Again, you will have access to ample space to unpack in the walk-in closet. The en-suit bathroom offers a frameless glass shower enclosure, his and hers sinks, and additional linen closet space. A unique feature of this master suite are the French doors leading out to a cozy balcony with seating for two overlooking the pool area and still within the screen enclosure. Follow the stairs down from the main living level to the beautifully remodeled downstairs living quarters. This forth bedroom is furnished with king size bedroom set and beautifully finished en-suite bathroom with shower. The bedroom offers pool views and access directly out to the pool area via large sliding glass door. Down the hall there is a laundry closet equipped with extra large capacity washer/dryer and an additional half bath, which is accessible from the pool and outdoor areas. Moving outside to the pool and outdoor living space you will find plentiful lounging and seating around the pool and gas fireplace with flatscreen TV. With this space and a large outdoor kitchen, you may find yourself spending more time out here than inside. The house is located on the north end of SK, so there is easy access getting on and off the key as well as to grocery stores, Southside Village, Downtown and the new CineBistro movie theatre within the newly redeveloped SouthGate Mall. Other great things nearby: Watersports including paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, golf, mini-golf, Selby Botanical Gardens, Ringling Museum, cinemas, St Armand's Circle, art galleries, supermarkets, gourmet markets including Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and Morton's, downtown Sarasota upscale shops, restaurants and galleries are all within a 10 minute drive. A few minor complaints like one of the ceiling fans on the lanai didn't work. Shell Beach isn't what I would call a feature worth mentioning but the house is only 2 miles from Siesta Key Beach. Lots of room to spread out. Comfortable furniture. Great outdoor living space. Short drive to Siesta village and beaches. As others have mentioned (and they REALLY need to update the description) there is no beach anymore that is walkable from this house. Also mentioned by other guests which they haven’t addressed: there is no hot water in the guest bathroom/shower, and if you are old or short you will have trouble getting into the downstairs bed. It is very high. It is also the worst equipped rental we have ever stayed at. 1 roll of toilet paper provided for each bathroom. 1 dingy coffee maker that maybe cost 10 when new. 1 dish cloth and 1 dish towel. Be prepared to purchase/bring your own dishtowels, and hand soap for each bathroom (they provide 1 super-small bar for each). Day 1 upon entering the home was hot and humid. We waiting and would not go below 75\. Which would be fine if it was not so humid we reported it. We were told it was the weather and that is how it was. Our friend a few houses over indoor temp was 70 and no where near humid. We reported this to the management company. Basically were told suck it up. Shower door to the master was missing, several builds through out the house were missing or not working. Several smoke detectors not working, steps going up to front door are coming up and hard to walk up. I asked prior to coming that to ensure pool was clean as our youngest son has severe Autism, no response. Pool had slime at the bottom and very dirty cloudy water. Called management company on day 2 and told it was clean and nothing can be done. Then day three a sewage leak that had been occurring prior to check in was discovered while grilling. Called management company and the guy told us we were being evicted because of the issues. He said we needed to fix the sewage leak. Then when we refused he came and was yelling at us and slamming doors. He said it was out responsibility. We contacted VRBO from day one at this point VRBO deemed it unsanitary for us to be there and asked we receive a refund they refused any part of a refund. Unfortunately they’ll need to update the description as Shell Beach is no longer after the storm. We were hoping for warmer weather so we could utilize more of the outdoor area area, but the weather didn’t cooperate. The bedroom downstairs was a disappointment though as I could barely get into it as it was on a high platform but very comfortable after getting on. Unfortunately sharing the closet with the homeowner wasn’t ideal as I really had no room to hang my clothes. Your housekeeping needs to do a better job on the floors down there as there was a lot of sand. The kitchen was equipped very nicely and again if there was a problem, it got handled. I would definitely return. ##### Kelly K. 2024 年 12 月入住 7 晚 ### 4/10 很差 #### Shawn H. 2024 年 12 月 19 日 不满意：清洁度 #### We Won’t Be Back The property manager ghosted us after day two of the stay and never addressed: 1) a pocket door to the 1st floor full bath that didn't open or close creating a bad experience for the 1st floor bedroom guests, 2) WiFi that didn't work during the stay (we fixed it ourselves on the last day and spent time getting WiFi from local coffee shops), 3) a spa/hot tub that never heated up, 4) missing smoke alarms in bedrooms (code violation), 5) missing light bulbs in closets, 6) inconsistent hot water (2 people cannot shower at the same time). The property team did fix after a few days the pool, which did not initially heat (money for the heating was refunded upon our ask), dirty floors leaving bare feet quite dirty and no sheets in the primary bedroom. After the second full day, the property management team stopped returning calls. If you rent, you must contact VRBO, not the phone provided, which was our mistake. We asked for a refund for the pool heating (received) and a credit for a day of the stay. The property management team declined and never responded to VRBO either on the safety issues or the stay issues. VRBO did provide us a 10% refund of our stay costs - the refund could have been larger if we had contacted VRBO during the stay. Otherwise, the location is good, the house could've been good along with the pool but there was no effort. One note, there are few sand toys for kids. Our party of 7 adults and a toddler definitely had room to spread out and do different things which was great. On the negative side, the house looks 'tired' and lacked attention to detail. The dining chairs had food stains and the placemats were gross. The kitchen appeared to be well stocked yet felt unwelcome with just one garbage bag, one paper roll, one towel, 2 dishwasher tabs, one small dish detergent yet no sponge, no handsoap, no drying rack and IMO lots of mix and match dish, glass and silverware, with the latter not enough for 8 people. The curtains in the master bedroom were torn at the bottom and the balcony furniture unclean. There were also only two tabs for the washer, certainly not enough for a large crowd. Note that the lower level bedroom has a double bed, not a queen as described in the listing. Overall we enjoyed the property. We had 7 adults and 2 children under 2 and the separate living areas gave us room to spread out. It made it nice due to our little kiddos there were French door to keep them in one area away from the step of a sunken living room and there was a door at the top of stairs for added safety. There were no accommodation for the young kids at this house so everything needed we rented from nearby rental company. We did not have the best weather (January) chilly and rainy much of the week, so having the hot tub and paying extra to heat the pool was well worth it! If you have small children know there are no bathtubs, showers only in the bathrooms. This is as described I just didn’t look close enough and we made do. The location of the house is convenient but the beach in walking distance is very small, a great place to sit or fish but not one to walk far on but there is a great public beach a short drive away. The beds were a mixed review on comfort. The house was very clean and the kitchen was stocked well enough with dishes etc but there were just enough towels for our numbers but no extras so we felt like we were washing towels often to have clean ones available. It is on a busy road but the traffic noise was not too bad and the yard is well maintained. There were 10 of us including 2 babies, and never felt like we were on top of each other, the house is very spacious ( there are no amenities for babies, we purchased a pack n play off Facebook marketplace for $30 when we arrived and we did leave it in the garage, hopefully it’s there for anyone who may need it in the future) While it is true that it’s a 3/4 minute walk to the beach, I just want to note that particular access is to a very small beach, the access to the large Siesta Key beach is a 30 min walk, 7 min drive. We did spend some time at the small beach it’s cute and private. Our communication with management was great, they responded quickly, one issue we had was the box to turn the hot tub on was locked, they had to come out and unlock it. The one negative, was the grille area, it was covered in black soot, the countertop and table top needed to be cleaned up before we could cook in that area, the floor in that area was grimy as well, it would have been nice if that was wiped down before we arrived. Other than that everything else was very clean. The pool was wonderful, no issues at all. ##### Colleen D. 2023 年 10 月入住 7 晚 ### 8/10 还可以 #### Albert C. 2023 年 8 月 27 日 满意：清洁度 #### Nice place 8 of us stayed at this very practical and fun beach house; we were 4 min walking distance from the smaller public access beach and drove 6 min to the stores, as well as about 7ish min to the main Siesta Key beach. Location was excellent, but just a few things to note that were negative. The grill had probably a year or more’s worth of grease on it, scoured it with a grill brush we had to purchase. The fans have a hard time clearing out the smoke that overly greasy grill produced so you will stink if you use it. With that being said the pool was very nice along with the whirlpool tub as the tub’s heat is not included in the price but is available for purchase at a pretty reasonable price. The fireplace switch for the patio was nowhere to be found. There is a basketball net if you’re willing to sweat a little in the heat before cooling off in the pool or the beach walking distance away. A/C is cold and plenty powerful enough where you will not find it lacking. Size, location, living spaces all great! Everyone had their own space and the configuration allowed for multiple gathering spots as well. The patio/outdoor kitchen was great. Only downside was the pool. It had an issue for our entire stay so we couldn’t use it. It’s fixed now. The leasing agent was very helpful getting that done. We didn’t let that become a deal breaker for us because the home was in a great location that made it easy for us to spend our days at the beach or wandering the area. I would not suggest using the dryer. It’s filter doesn’t sit in its slot very good. Several of our items of clothes got caught and damaged on it. Conveniently located close to the beach as well as downtown siesta key. Only drawback is staff is not able to handle repairs during peak times. Dishwasher was inoperable before we arrived, property manager notified us to that on the day of check in. It stayed inoperable for the 7 nights that we stayed there. and didn’t receive an apology email. Was broken when we got there. Pool water too cold to swim in. No sun in pool area. Lizards and cockroaches in the house. Kitchen poorly equipped for cooking meals…. Pans in particular (awful) Couldn’t take a hot shower, water would only get slightly warm. I’m assuming that was temperature controlled as well. No TVs in bedrooms except master bedroom!! Definitely not worth the high price that we paid!!! However, if you want to swim in a pool that isn't heated, my advice is to come at least in March or April when it is warmer. The first two weeks of February, one week of which the outside temp averaged 55, the pool water was extremely cold, only allowing us use of the hot tub. The first floor covered lanai held promise, only to find that being exposed to the elements, like it was, resulted in a dust/pollen coating on all table tops, and not so welcoming sofa and chair cushions. The rest of the house was generally nicely furnished, but the beds really needed to be replaced. Some guests complained of mattresses not being comfortable at all. The kitchen was well stocked; however the pots and pans also needed to be replaced, since almost every teflon pan was scratched to the point that the teflon was gone, which is supposedly not healthy when cooking. Also, previous renters hadn't cleaned some of the pans well; dried, sticky cooking oil covered the outside of several of them. In the master bathroom, the bidet was not welcoming, given that there was dried urine inside of it and the sprayer had a blue patina covering it. We had to remove area rugs in the bedroom to prevent someone from slipping on them and falling. The so-called "non-slip" pad under each one had long ago lost it's gripping ability, which resulted in a very dangerous situation. Also, it might behoove management to go through the house between renters to make sure all lights work. We had many light bulbs that were dead, and the lighting in general was weak. The only light in the master bedroom was two table lamps which were 3-way but had one-way bulbs. It was a nice house to rent for two weeks. Longer than that and I would have had a problem.
