You can swim or wade to Sand Dollar Island, a naturally occurring white sand cay popular with dolphin sand-dollars and “occasionally” manatee and giant-conch. The water is shallow clear and calm with white quartz-sand tide-pools perfect for sleeping drinking or playing. You can go from the water to lunch or dinner and back to the sand without putting on your shoes. The Home You work hard and deserve a getaway. This apartment is ground floor with a queen bed, full kitchen with fold-down table for two, and bathroom with step-in shower. Your patio is private and has chaise loungers, bistro dining table, propane grill, and is on a quiet gated courtyard. Perfect for enjoying a quiet cup of coffee, good book, cocktail(s), or an al-fresco meal. It's a few a steps off the patio into the heart of the Village and the best fresh oysters, seafood, tropical drinks, ice cream, entertainment, and even gourmet donuts on the island. Beach Gear Provided We provide beach towels, chairs, carts, umbrellas. If you don't have what you need, just reach out and we can usually get it for you. Correction for Air-b-n-b listings this location doesn't provide "snorkeling gear" but this and anything you need can be rented or purchased nearby. Household Items Provided We provide bedding, kitchen items, most major and minor appliances, blow dryers, and hangers. Simple soaps and paper products come in starter-supply that will get you through a short stay and anything you need can be purchased nearby. What to Bring It's a laid-back island so pack as lite as you like. Our fashion is casual, wash and wear, and all units have laundries. Also, anything you forget to bring can be found nearby in good supply and fair prices. Post Booking Support We understand vacation time is precious and will make sure you get the most out of it. Gertrude Rentals was named for my grandmother “Gertrude” who traveled the world until age 91 but always insisted Siesta Key was the place she loved best. When I was young, she would take me to the beach and swim out so far, I couldn't see her yellow flowered bathing cap even while standing on a chair! Today, you can laze float and wade in the same white quartz sand and calm crystal-clear gulf water she once did. Terms Payments are 50% refundable when canceled at least 60 days before arrival. Payments are not refundable when canceled less than 60 days before arrival. Events or gatherings involving outside guests are only allowed with prior approval from the management. Guest agrees to hold the Property Manager and Owner harmless from any liability for injuries while on vacation. Sorry but events involving guests in excess of your unit occupancy limit are not permitted at this location. Travel Insurance If you prefer insured bookings, we also offer travel insurance. Basic Travel Insurance- cost is 7%, covers 30 different issues, coverage begins only after protection has been purchased. CFAR (cancel for any reason) insurance is available in states applicable- cost is approximately 11% (7% basic plus additional 3.8% to add CFAR). Basic and CFAR must be purchased together as CFAR cannot be purchased individually. CFAR covers 60% of the trip cost with no questions asked. Travel insurance must be purchased within 14 days of booking and 30 days before check-in. It is our first studio rental. So it took a little getting used to. My suggestions going forward, and I know it’s a rental and people can be unkind to rental properties. I would purchase new blinds for the doors. Kitchen sink one was great. The furniture needs updating. The rug could use updating, the fitted sheet came off every night at the top and the bottom. We also had two hand towels that had stains on them. The shower curtain could be changed as well. Walk one block in one direction and you're at the beach. One block in other direction and you're in Siesta Key Village - best place on the island for food, drinks, and live music. This place is also just 1 block from the Breeze trolley stop where you can catch a ride to check out other beaches or go venturing into Sarasota. The room is pretty small, like a hotel room with a single queen bed, but very clean with a comfortable bed. Would recommend for 2 people max. The property was incredibly cozy and intimate (perfect for two), providing us with a comfortable retreat after our days exploring the area and laying on the beach. The location was ideal! Just a short walk away from an array of fantastic restaurants, shops, and of course, the beach! The host was exceptional, ensuring our stay was smooth from start to finish. Queen size bed which we found very comfortable. The A/C is a wall unit and was a bit lacking but there is a box fan in the room and that made a huge difference. It is situated between what appeared to be two permanent residence. Not a problem at all, just would be nice to have known that. It is perfectly situated in the middle of Siesta Key Village. Steps from SKOB and all the village things. Maybe .20 of a mile from the beach which was nice and quiet. Beach access 4 doesn’t have much parking so those who are there likely walked. The kitchenette was decent with a stove, fridge and a microwave. Small table to sit at but that’s where we put the box fan. The location is great. The patio area is great and they provided beach chairs and a wagon. The unit is a Studio not a 1 BR. The location of this unit is absolutely perfect! The village is maybe 2 blocks, and the beach is a short walk. My husband and I did not have a car, and it was definitely not needed. The unit itself was very clean. It's just a studio but with everything you need. Daniel was a fantastic host! The only thing that was different at first, was you go through a gate, reminded me of a jungle, there are 4 units, 2 our permeant residents and 2 are rented. The ones that live there were very friendly. The studio was clean and ready when I arrived. I couldn't have asked for a better location. This studio was literally only a minute or 2 from restaurants. The beach was super close as well. If you are looking for somewhere just to lay your head, this is the place. However, both me and my spouse found the bed and pillows very uncomfortable to the point that I slept with a towel under my head and not the pillow on the 2nd and 3rd night because it caused me neck pain after the first night. The patio area looks nicer in the pictures than in person.
