Silvertip Cabins, a duplex cabin nestled in the forest surrounding Silver Gate, Montana, will be the perfect adult accommodations for your private and quiet getaway. Located one mile outside the NE Gate to Yellowstone National Park, Silver Gate is a cozy community with 2 small stores, 2 food venues, and an outdoor shop. Right inside Yellowstone is the scenic and wildlife-rich Lamar Valley.
Each cabin is designed for no more than two adults in a rustic, yet comfortable space. No pets are allowed. Cabin includes a well-equipped FULL kitchen with eating bar, relaxed living room with satellite TV, luxurious California King handmade lodgepole bed, and bathroom with circular glass shower and separate vanity area. The porch provides a quiet, shady area on which to read, relax or just sit and listen to the wind as it passes through the trees that surround this gem of a cabin. A gas grill for your use is located right off your porch for grill cooking. The water well on our property has been recognized as one of the best and freshest in the State of Montana, so you won't need to bring bottled water, except if you want to FILL your bottles :)
A short walk across our property will find you on the banks of Soda Butte Creek for fishing or just relaxing next to the water. The view across the creek is Duffy's Meadow, a conservation property where no development is allowed thereby offering you an unobstructed view of nature and oft times, wildlife.
Silvertip Cabins are also a short hike to several nearby waterfalls and hiking trails. The cabin is a perfect base point for not only traveling into our nation's first national park to the west, but also to a variety of scenic roads and towns to the east. The cabins and town of Silver Gate itself is a 20 minute drive from the base of the Beartooth Scenic Highway over Beartooth Pass to Red Lodge Montana, as well as the beginning of the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway heading into Cody, Wyoming.
As shown in our pictures, Silvertip Cabins is a duplex, with each of the 2 cabins sleeping two adults... No children or pets.
The internet on our property is through Starlink so you will be able to use the internet while here. It is usually accessible inside your cabin, but periodically the range does not reach that far and will be only accessible from the porch of your cabin. Guests shall not share the internet password with others.
We want to assure our potential guests that we go above and beyond in disinfecting and cleaning our cabins between reservations. Not only do we use disinfectants in cleaning the cabins and thoroughly wash all linens and towels prior to your arrival, we also employ the use of a sterilizing UV light, similar to the devices the airlines use to disinfect airplane cabins between flights. These UV lights (2 of them) are set up after our cleaning with disinfectants and allowed to run for 45 minutes in the cabin. After running 45 minutes, 45 additional minutes of "airing out" are implemented as is the recommended procedure for the devices. These UV lights virtually eradicate the any residual germs in the cabins.
Our check-in time is 2:00 pm and our check out time is 10:00 am. If you would need a change to these times, please let the owner know when making your reservation.
WE DO NOT TAKE RESERVATIONS MORE THAN 12 MONTHS IN ADVANCE AND STAYS OF LESS THAN 6 NIGHTS ARE NOT BOOKED UNTIL MARCH 1st OF THE BOOKING YEAR IN ORDER TO ALLOW THOSE WHO WOULD LIKE TO BOOK A LONGER STAY THE ABILITY TO BOOK WITHOUT THE DATES BEING BROKEN UP BY SHORTER STAYS.
Prior to checking out, our guests who are booked into our cabin for 6 or more nights for the current season DO have the option of reserving for "their" same time span for the next calendar year. Therefore, if you are interested in booking for a FUTURE season, the best thing to do is to let us know your interest via email and we'll put your name on our reservation waiting list to be contacted as soon as we know the dates you request are available. Reservations of less than 6 days for upcoming seasons cannot be made until after March 1 unless a smaller "locked in" space shows available on our calendar prior to March 1.

Absolutely Fabulous!
This was our fourth(?) time staying with the Widmans, and this property never fails to deliver. The proximity to the park and the pass make it the perfect base camp for daily excursions. You should definitely stay here, but please don't take the dates we like. :)

Best cabin in the entire area
Amazing!!! 11 star rating!! Handcrafted mastery. I spent hours looking at the details of the wood work and forgot to watch TV. Super cool, fresh, super pure drinking water. Super quiet and isolated but close to everything. The Widman's are fantastic hosts and we enjoyed a week on their property. Staying at the Widman’s property will be a memory to cherish for a lifetime.

Yellowstone Adventure
Carol’s property is simply amazing, and she is probably the best host we have ever had. The cabin is so cozy and spotless, and very comfortable, with everything you need. The location and surroundings, right next to Yellowstone Park and creekside, are spectacular. Even though we did have to cut our stay short by 2 nights due to the historic floods in Yellowstone, we enjoyed our stay very much and can’t wait to return.

Peaceful
We visit Yellowstone National Park frequently but have never explored this area just outside its NE entrance. The duplex cabin is located in a forested area away from the main road and the property borders Soda Butte Creek. The cabin is beautifully done, all Pete's handcrafted handiwork right down to custom made counters, pantry and built-ins etc. We had everything needed for comfort and making meals. We enjoyed sitting on the covered porch. A short hike from the cabin is the beautiful Bridal Falls. So close to Yellowstone National Park. Great place to get away from the crowds. Thank you Carol and Pete for sharing this cabin with us!

Splendid Cabin with views
Pete & Carol’s have created this rustic but eloquent cabin that is tucked in the mountain pines with scenic Mountain Views. It’s peaceful and scenic. Relaxing by the Soda Butte Creek, makes this cabin special. So many details went into this cabin. Pictures on Vrbo don’t show its entirety. Imagine sitting on the front porch w a cup of coffee, while listening to nature, while soaking up peacefulness. We felt it’s the best area to be in if you want to experience Yellowstone, or take a drive on the Beartooth Scenic Highway which is a must! Lamar Valley is the place to see wildlife , plus is the fastest way to get into the park without wait lines. We saw Bears. Cubs, Bison, pronghorns, bald eagle, moose, mountain goats, plus foxes.
