"Host was very gracious to let us drop off our bags before check in to allow us to sightsee before the official check in time. The location is great to airport bus, the harbor, and restaurants. Great windows and comfortable common living area. Nice they had an extra umbrella for use as well. Cute historic old house like the title says, which of course means climbing stairs and bathroom on second level. Not a negative per se but I could see it being tough for elderly guests. Beds also...

"The location is great but is up a steep hill or many steps. The street is beautiful, as is the neighbourhood and the bed is comfortable. I’m sure the accommodation was perfect when it was set up but now I think it needs a bit of a retouch as it’s a bit dated. Cleanliness: not ideal. When we arrived there was old food left in the fridge, food stains on the wall and old food left on the scrubbing brush. Furniture: the aim is clearly for a cozy feel but the organisation could be vastly improved....

"Looks iffy from the outside, but it's a good location. Breakfast was very good. Rooms are big in comparision to most Scandinivian hotels. There is a terrace which was a nice place to sit. We wished the hotel had a better bar area though."

"I am so glad we pick this hotel for our stay in Bergen. The location was perfect - on a street with no cars, an easy walk to the heart of Bryggen but a few blocks away from the busiest tourist area. Our room was perfect - courtyard view of cute Bergen rooftops, window that opened to let in the lovely fresh air, and comfortable beds. The highlight of our stay was the AMAZING breakfast. We devoured the delicious watermelon slices, filled up on hearty overnight oats and chia pudding, appreciated the gluten-free section with crackers and granola, and quenched our thirst with delicious grapefruit juice. We were so excited to wake up to this breakfast every day of our stay! If you're planning a trip to Bergen, look no further - this hotel is perfect!"

"The hotel was excellent and served its purpose as a base for a few days. The overall hotel and staff were very friendly and helpful. I want to single out the three staff who worked in the hotel bar on Sunday 5 July. The restaurant was closed. The bar was short staffed and the three people who were working went above and beyond. The bar was full due to the World Cup football match. Customers were lining up to come in, wanting food and drinks and a place to watch the game. The staff accommodated as many as they could. Offered food and drinks and dealt with the overwhelming number of customers, in a professional and friendly manner. I understand that they were short staffed but the two men and one woman didn’t get flustered or upset. They went above and beyond serving way more people than was expected and doing it with a smile on their face. While I am sorry I do not know their names, I hope management review the work roster and provide these people with an official acknowledgment of the work they performed. Thank you."
