“The location is great but is up a steep hill or many steps. The street is beautiful, as is the neighbourhood and the bed is comfortable. I’m sure the accommodation was perfect when it was set up but now I think it needs a bit of a retouch as it’s a bit dated. Cleanliness: not ideal. When we arrived there was old food left in the fridge, food stains on the wall and old food left on the scrubbing brush. Furniture: the aim is clearly for a cozy feel but the organisation could be vastly improved.……

“Huge amount of stairs to get to property. Bed was not comfortable. When we picked up keys from lock box for the building and apartment, the keys to the apartment did not open the door -- frustrating after a long day of travel and climbing four flights of stairs. The owner did not take responsibility and more or less accused us of not knowing how to use a key. Just saying "I'm sorry for the mistake" would have worked.”

It is a short, 15 minute walk to the city center in a quiet neighborhood, but the apartment looks onto a busy street, so the whooshing of cars speeding over the bridge is a constant backdrop.There is a nice cafe a 5 minute walk away and a market 10-15 minutes away.One reason I chose the apartment is that it features a washer and dryer. “Host was very gracious to let us drop off our bags before check in to allow us to sightsee before the official check in time. The location is great to airport bus, the harbor, and restaurants. Great windows and comfortable common living area. Nice they had an extra umbrella for use as well. Cute historic old house like the title says, which of course means climbing stairs and bathroom on second level. Not a negative per se but I could see it being tough for elderly guests. Beds also……

“Acceptable for affordable accommodations in a convenient location. It is up 4 flights of narrow stairs, so plan accordingly for your luggage. Small enhancements in the finishes could bring this to a higher rating (front door fits poorly so very hard to open, missing screws on interior door handles, etc.).”
