Overall 5 star experience but some warnings for future guests. - though the pictures attached to this hotel has an infinity pool there is in fact no longer a pool. I realize now that the description of amenities doesn’t say there is a pool, but I totally missed that bc the pool is featured in so many pictures. - the luxury double room that is quite pricey is apparently not necessarily what you will get. They showed me to a room on the ground floor where everyone in the restaurant would be looking right into my room, vs the panoramic mountain views that came with the listing. When I brought this up they were very gracious to switch me to a family room. Service was great, food was great, I really cannot fault them but I left feeling like I would need to be really careful booking future hotels in China because I really don’t trust anymore that the extra splurge will actually pay off.

Location is 6 mins walk from the middle gate of the Forrest Park entrance and about 20 mins DiDi ride to Walingyuen or Xibu Old Street. Staff super helpful. Gave us great suggestions on places to visit and also sold tickets to attractions. Breakfast buffet was fine..mix of Chinese and Western foods. You can also order bowls of noodles 🍜 which comes in spicy soup. We didn’t use the pool at all because of the weather. We went late September and we were ‘in the cloud’ most mornings on the 6 nights we stayed. We had one of the 2 bed suites with terrace and the rooms were large and clean. Came with a clothes washer and drying rack. We didn’t use the terrace at all because there was a fence around parts of it which you can’t see through and there were large bits of plastic (like bin lids) strewn around. There are tables outside the lobby facing the fields across the road which are good to sit at which we did use. There were restaurants and bars walking distance from the hotel. We ate at the one next door upstairs which was very good, and a nice little open air coffee, drinks bar called Pastoral Station which lit a Bon fire and had a singer every night. There is also a small convenience shop next to the hotel which opens til 10pm.

This is a very good B&B. You can taste the local specialties, and the housekeeper is very attentive and considerate. The environment of the B&B is very beautiful. You can see the whole mountain view from the room, and there are many cats and dogs, which are very cute. Highly recommended!

Amazing hotel! The view alone would be worth choosing this location, but the level of care from the owners and staff really makes the place special. It’s a short ride from the national park gates and very cheap in a taxi so well worth it over staying in town which is busy and noisy so not relaxing after a busy day in Zhangjiajie park.
