Even after living in this area for 20 years, I still get excited when "the mountain is out". Standing at over 14,000 feet, Mount Rainier creates her own weather, which can change quickly and can be drastically different than the surrounding area. I have learned to venture out to find new perspectives that I have not seen before or on the path less traveled. When I saw that it would be clear this past week for sunset, I grabbed my camera and shot for a general location until I found this spot. I was not expecting the autumn leaves, so I ended up with an image better than anticipated.

We were blown away by the community spaces upon entry as there is a kitchen and wonderdul searing area on the ground floor. Also the room we stayed in was cozy and comfortable. The best vibe was meeting other travelers grabbing coffee in the kitchen or even doing laundry before we left was fun!
