Top Southern Cook Islands Hotel Reviews

The Islander Hotel
8/10 Good
"We stayed at the Islander Hotel for our last night in Rarotonga before heading back to Australia the following morning on an early flight. Staff were lovely. The room was ok but a few stains on the bed head put me off! Bed was comfortable. There was a t.v in the room but no remote and didn't seem to be working at all. Went across to the restaurant for meals. Good views, food well priced, good entertainment on. The beach bar does play music til around 10.30-11pm so no chance of an early night, although appreciated that they do turn it off at a reasonable time. This hotel is basically across the road for the airport so very convenient for an overnight stay. "

The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Lagoonarium
10/10 Excellent
"Wonderful resort with great customer service and slso lovely rooms and great restaurant "

Club Raro Resort – Adults Only
10/10 Excellent
"The room was good for what we paid. It didnt smell like the toilet was cleaned properly.
But overall was good."

Muri Beach Resort
6/10 Okay
"Take ear plugs! The Roosters never shut up!
The facilities are basic, but clean and OK. Pool is OK as long as large groups don't take over.
Nautilus staff we found dismissive, Muri staff more pleasant. BBQ area is nice but the hot plates are old and barely heat meaning without an over, self catering is challenging. Good proximity to beach and great use of snorkles / kayak / reef shoes etc."

Aroa Beachside Resort
10/10 Excellent
"I had a great 7-day experience at Aroa Beachside Resort. My accommodation had a full-size fridge, cooking stove, microwave, front porch, and anything that one would need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was basic, but got the job done. The grounds are well-groomed and beach just wonderful. I walked it every day...quiet & peaceful. I like watching the lightning-fast Tropical Crabs, which are exclusive to the Cook Islands. Shipwreck Bar, overlooking the ocean, is a great place to have a drink and something to eat while watching the never-ending waves crashing onto the reef. The Fire/Dance Show, free to guests, is absolutely the best on the island. There's a convenience store just a short walk down the road or along the beach that has a lot to offer, including hand-dipped ice cream. Beside the store is Asian Delight restaurant, which has excellent food at a very favorable price. Oh, and if you like hiking, Raemaru Track trailhead is just down the road. I hiked it twice! All the around, you can't go wrong with Aroa Beachside Resort!"

Tamanu Beach
8/10 Good
"We enjoyed our stay at the Tamanu resort. The resort is very pretty in a great area, we only wish the restaurant could offer more variety of food choices and better flavors. The room we stay in was also pretty nice, only a few things like sink was leaking and toilet didn’t flush properly from time to time.. overall we had a great time."

Pacific Resort Rarotonga
2/10 Terrible
"Disappointed by the treatment of the staff to us during a hard time in the world. "

Moana Sands Lagoon Resort - Adults Only
10/10 Excellent
"Great place to stay. The morning sun rises were spectacular from the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. "

The Edgewater Resort & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"It's a family resort, great for beach and sun. Staff are really friendly and helpful. We met with 18 family members and we really enjoyed our time here.."
