I never write reviews: I have been traveling with a large family and staying in expensive resorts or airbnbs for the past 15 years. I decided for the first time in my adult life to take a solo trip and look for cheaper places. The single room with shared bathroom at Tamarind was attractive because of price and location, as I wanted to be in a walking distance in Cruz Bay. I rented a car but didn’t want to drive to Cruz Bay every night to eat because parking is impossible. *Double rooms have its own bathrooms. Once I got in STJ I had many surprises. By the way, I decided to bring my son along and rented 2 single rooms. First impact: super clean! Everything in the room neat and professional. The room has a mini fridge, air conditioner, beach towel, beach cooler. They would let you borrow beach chairs, get FREE ice for your cooler at the bar and it has free parking. Manager and employees are super nice and they will spend time talking to you about anything. The best: breakfast! The free breakfast announced is a plate with fruits, bread a coffee. However the breakfast menu is incredible. We had the best omelette of our lives and it is cheaper than the first breakfast place you will see next to the ferry which was mediocre. If you’re not staying at Tamarind, you should have breakfast there. It is the hidden place locals bring guests for breakfast in St. John. The shared bathroom experience: no problem! Super clean with abundant hot water. We will be back!
