Learn more about St. Mary

Nestled at Glacier National Park's eastern entrance, this tiny town serves as the perfect basecamp for outdoor adventures. Hike to stunning alpine lakes, spot wildlife on Going-to-the-Sun Road, or join a ranger-led tour to learn about the park's ecology.

Just after the entrance to Glacier National Park there is a small path leading out on a rock formation that provides incredible views of the mountain scape across the lake. We thought we would be able to take the Going To The Sun Road through the park, but it’s opening was delayed (it was already the middle of May) due to a late thaw and portions of the road were still covered in snow. This little overlook, only a short walk past the gate, was perfect after having driven over an hour out of the way to drive through the park. #mountains #nationalparks #roadtrip
