"My wife and I love Stowe, VT. We try go get there every now and then. However, our last experience left us bitter, our "usual" place had changed owners and it was disappointing. So this time we tried a lovely new inn that just opened in 1945 (well, it's "new" to us!): the Stowe Village Inn. What an absolutely charming, beautiful inn. To be honest, I expected to find Bob Newhart behind the desk to greet us! It was even better: Melinda, the GM of the inn, greeted us and checked us in; such a lovely person!
The inn has obviously been well-maintained and renovated over the years, but retains its Vermont-style charm and coziness. The rooms are modern, clean, comfortable.
And you know what they say: location, location, location! You step out of the inn and you're right in the heart of downtown Stowe, and as the Counting Crows sang, "it's the heart that matters more".
I just can't say enough about this inn, except that I can't wait to get back there for another visit!"
