From the outside, a rather normal looking house in a smaller Slovak city, but on the inside, a small but very service minded team, and very large and spacious rooms. Food was exquisite, both dinner in restaurant and the breakfast was made fresh from a breakfast menu, probably the best hotel breakfast I’ve had in over 10 years. "I rarely write hotel reviews, but I deeply, deeply, deeply regret choosing this one. Before booking, I checked Google Maps and saw that it’s a 17-minute walk to the city centre. I thought, “If walking takes 17 minutes, public transport must be even faster.” To my surprise, taking public transport actually takes 40 minutes — much longer than walking — and you have to transfer twice to get to the centre. The location is remote and not easy to find, especially at night. Even though the hotel had available rooms when I arrived, they wouldn’t let me check in early unless I paid an extra €25\. Who would want to pay extra just for 2 or 3 more hours in a hotel that barely qualifies as four stars? It’s really more like a three-star hotel. The hotel is old, and the bathroom is even older — the outdated design means water leaks all over the floor when you take a shower. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience."
