Hike the trails around Sutton Lake, where anglers cast lines and boaters skim across sparkling waters. Explore the town's Civil War heritage, then grab a bite downtown where locals swap tales of the 'Braxton County Monster.'
A sweet spot on the river of an old downtown. We enjoyed glamping in the well-appointed Sycamore tent, and the hosts made a lovely omelette breakfast. We spent the day railbiking at Elk River Rail and an ATV tour with Middleton. It was our first time to West Virginia and we had a great time.

This is cabin in the woods that is like a hostel. I had the whole dorm room to myself. The service is techno; everything is done by phone. I was worried I would not be able to upload my pic of my license, but I got it done.

Really beautiful property with beautiful amenities. I will say that our meal the first night (in the bar), was cold and not great, but the next meal we had at the clubhouse was fantastic, as were the breakfasts we had at the more formal sit-down restaurant. We will definitely come back..
