"This property has been recently refurbished; it was done very well. We appreciated the numerous electrical outlets and updated facilities. The location is convenient for walking to numerous attractions. My only reasons for 4 stars overall are the very small rooms (I know, it’s typical of European city hotels.), lack of a kettle and refrigerator in the rooms, and the ridiculously small sink right beside the bed. The cleaners must hate that sink because it is impossible to use without water...

"We could've used 2 keys to be able to leave or go back to the guest house separately. Other than that, we liked this guest house as it is located at the perfect spot for public transport, touristic and also shopping purposes. Although we were promised cleaning and towel replacement service in every three days, we didn't mind not getting it. We were happy with using the same towels for a week. "The staff is very friendly, helpful and rooms are very clean. Super close to the BCN airport."

"Definitely the case of “you get what you paid for “. I chose this because we were on a tight budget and we needed the room just to sleep. Turned it was a good choice. Location was great, only a few blocks behind “expensive hotels”. We had a triple room, so it was roomier. The room was cleaned everyday, tea and coffee in the lounge area, but no milk provided and freshness was questionable. You guys should clean the fridge, a bit of food left behind that are way past the ‘used by’ date."

"The room was small but clean and the beds were comfortable. It was a somewhat difficult to find the office. Some signs and specific instructions would be helpful. But everything else was great. The location is very central and lots of attractions are easy to reach by walking."

"El Born was perfectly located adjacent to the gothic quarter and across the street from train and bus stations. The metro and beach were also easily walkable. We would stay here again! Guillermo was super friendly and helpful. We felt welcome and that he would accommodate whatever needs we had. Water pressure was great and got plenty hot. The room was cool and the bed was comfortable. "

"Guillermo was a perfect host . He provided a hairdryer which I didn’t bring . He also let us use the garden after we checked out and helped with a phone call for something I needed . Will definitely stay here again when I visit. Only tiny disappointment was the pools not ready to use until later in season . However I had a lovely swim in the local municipal nearby which was fabulous . Easy to get trains to Barcelona and preferred this to the metro where I got a bit lost "

The service is probably one of the best in the city, with amazing people ready to help with anything you need. Unfortunately, this a hostel —not a hotel— and as such is missing vital add-ons like ACs. "Bit of an odd concept. No front desk. Just scan a qr code at a key box and receive your room keys. Quaint lift. Must have been nearly 100 years old. Generally good basic facilities but clean and secure. Just what was needed."
