Good size room and fit for purpose, very few staff to interact with but those that we did come across were friendly.

"Close to the city"
Stayed at the Ibis over Easter. Very nice modern hotel. Was disappointed with breakfast, had to queue for toaster, then hot food, which was cold by the time you sat down to eat it. The room was nice, but no comfortable chair to sit on.

"Stunning location, relaxed atmosphere"
A lovely old house set in beautiful gardens at the heart of a stunning village. A perfect setting for our 25th anniversary. The staff are helpful and friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. The furniture in our room was a little tired but the room was very clean. The bathroom was modern and huge with roll top bath and separate large shower. The only downside was the room being the first at the top of very creaky stairs and landing (it is an old building) above the reception did disturb as guests returned at night and early morning. Also we were wakened early by what we suspect was the kitchen extraction unit (room Mustians) is possibly over the kitchens??) . However, we are early risers so it did not detract for us. You can eat in the bar or restaurant, the menu is the same. The bar eating area is old and cosy whilst the restaurant is modern, comfortable and bright. We enjoyed both.

"Pleasant hotel on edge of Cheltenham"
It's a pleasant small hotel set in pleasant grounds on the eastern edge of Cheltenham overlooking open countryside, but also near a main road. The reception is a bit makeshift with a desk and computer, but is sufficient for the size of the hotel. Although I was only there one night I only saw two staff but they were helpful enough for my needs. The hotel was clean and well maintained and the room was comfy and the en suite was also clean and the shower easy to use. The only downside is the proximity to the main Cheltenham to Oxford Road which meant that you could hear traffic and it could keep you awake. All in all it was a pleasant hotel to stay for a short overnight stay.

Really enjoyed our stay at the CGH, very very comfortable room and a breakfast worth instagramming. In walking distance of central Cheltenham (10 minutes) which was perfect for our short stay! Kind & friendly staff. Special shout-out to Simon!

"Great Hotel"
The hotel was great. Only a short walk into Cheltenham (about 10 - 15 minutes), this is definitely somewhere we would stay again. Free parking at the hotel was a plus, as this meant we didn't have to worry about the car when we were there. The rooms were spacious and bright, with lots of pleasing additional features including bath oil for the bath, speakers in the bathroom, heated mirror (always a sign of a good hotel!), complementary celebrations and water, robes and slippers. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

"Good hotel at the center of Cirencester "
Under changed ownership the King Head Cirencester is in much transition. Some parts are far from worked out and some are really not quite on. Former breakfast arrangements have been replaced with a £17.50 flat rate whether for a full English Cooked breakfast or simply a pastry with coffee. Easily resolved, excepting Sunday mornings by walking next door to the stylish "Made by Bob" group of restaurants. Suite style room somehow lost the shown copper baths, parking and breakfasts along the way. Speaking of parking, it is very limited with the hotel at £15.00/daily and the next options are "Pay and Display" parking lots several streets away. Overnight parking required estimating the number of hours needed in the morning to purchase and display a parking voucher. Of course the machine for the limited parking nearest the hotel on the market itself was out of service. Room was large as was the bathroom, but all focused on the TV as the central focus. We would have appreciated a more conversation focused layout and better reading light. The large bathroom could have benefited from a sit stool or bench, and a place other than across the room under the roman blinds to put ones kit. Watch out for the lift, as it has a less than obvious side door for access to the mezzanine level, which someone fell out of the weekend we stayed. Reception was often unmanned, and other staff told me the hostess was "gone to the loo" and gave up after 45 minutes waiting.

"A very well run elegant hotel"
After our initial experience with central reservations we nearly cancelled our stay, as my husband had injured his leg so we wanted to check the room would be accessible. It was clear the phone lines were down at the hotel but the first two ladies we spoke to at central reservations didn't seem to care less and just wanted to get us off the line (one even saying we 'couldn't amend our booking as we had booked through Expedia'!). On our third attempt the guy who took our call thankfully wanted to help us and promised to email the hotel to request a room avoiding any stairs. We are glad we persevered as the staff at the hotel itself were fantastic and couldn't do enough for their customers. Without exception everyone we met from reception to the bar and waiting staff, greeted us with friendly professional service and went out of their way to make you feel that nothing was too much trouble. We had to cancel our restaurant reservation as the place we booked in town had lots of stairs, so we ate in the hotel bistro where we certainly were not disappointed as the food was absolutely excellent. The décor in the hotel is very tasteful. Our room was well equipped, comfortable and spacious. It is clearly a very well managed hotel. Definitely the best Hotel du Vin I have ever stayed in.
