![The Thomaston Colored Institute, aka Thomaston Academy, is a historic African American school building in the town of Thomaston, Alabama, United States. This two-story brick building was completed in 1910 as a private school by an African-American religious group, the West Alabama Primitive Baptist Association. "This was very close to where we needed to go. I wish I'd had the time to go to the Gee's Bend Quilt Museum and stroll the main street of Camden. We had a quick dinner a delightful place with their celebrated "C-O-B" (Chicken On Bun" and got ready for our event. Only thing I'd change is getting some filtered water available. Worked out great!"
