The stay was fantastic! Location was lovely, nice bungalow, good food and very nice staff! Special thanks to Thomas for amazing service, help finding gear, tours, tips etc.
everything in this resort is just amazing! Cheffy is the best cook, Heava the nicest waitress you can imagine, and the property is just heaven! We got upgrade to Vinnie bungalow, and it was just perfect! it was our second stay in French Polynesia and so far it was the best resort we stayed in. definitely recommended to everyone's and I hope we will be back!
We were so fortunate to spend our honeymoon at Ninamu — it truly felt like paradise. With only 10 bungalows on the entire island, the resort feels like you have rented a private island!
Chris, the owner, is amazing. He personally purchased the island and built the resort by hand. His passion is visible everywhere, from the beautifully designed spaces to the coral-covered walls that add unique character.
Heava, our waitress and bartender, made our stay extra special with her kindness and welcoming spirit. Chef cooked us some of the most incredible meals — we ate fresh-caught fish twice a day and have never felt better while traveling!
The lagoon surrounding the island is stunning—crystal clear and with vibrant fish and blacktip reef sharks. Snorkeling here felt like exploring a private aquarium!
This was an amazing place!!! The staff was absolutely outstanding - super friendly and helpful. The food was first rate! The island is truly paradise on earth. We loved the excursions, the snorkeling was fantastic and the beaches were beautiful. Our bungalow was just perfect - and they did a great job cleaning every day. We had a fantastic time! Thank you Ninamu for an experience we will never forget!!!!
Everything about this resort is exceptional. We were warmly greeted and given a tour on arrival by Cheffy who made us feel immediately relaxed and at home. Our bungalow was absolutely charming and just steps to the beach. We loved the open air sleeping area on the top floor - the sea breezes and sounds of the surf were magical. The food was fantastic - every meal fresh, full of flavor and beautifully presented. Cheffy is an incredibly talented chef as well as a wonderful host. The food was so good that every meal we had after leaving there was met with a disappointed sigh and a wish that we were back at Ninamu. The lovely Hieva was a terrific waitress and always had a warm welcome and smile. We enjoyed great snorkeling and kayaking with all equipment provided as well. We left completely relaxed and rejuvenated filled with fond memories of this little slice of paradise.
First, Ninamu is a tiny Palm covered islet , situated in the most beautiful aqua water anywhere - that alone is worth the trip. The resort itself has 11 bungalows - each hand-built, and each different. You can hang out and snorkel there or go on excursions to see many’s rays, coral gardens or the Blue Lagoon. All food is provided and it is good. Cheffy is a real French chef, and comes up with terrific fish and desserts. The staff are all friendly and helpful. There is even a resident dog, Coleman, who makes it his business to meet all the guests and check out opportunities for belly rubs.

Liked: Staff & service
hello friends:
Hope you are all well.. first, I wanted to congratulate Laeticia for her great energy and always with a smile. She is a nice manager there...we appreciated her 🙂. I also congratulate the owner for the walls and ceilings with the shells. This was amazing.

We had a good stay overall. Just wanted to point out something. This message is for Chris, the owner, to see what he thinks. As you may know we traveled due to our silver wedding anniversary and reason why I booked your most expensive room, and I booked it specifically due to the big jacuzzi (I knew you did not have hot water there, but still wanted to be there relaxing). As I say, it was because of this I booked the room and hoped to spend afternoons there relaxing and having the romantic time anticipated. NOWHERE on the site or emails or during reservation was it mentioned that it could occur (in summer or whatever) that there was a possibility that the jacuzzi was not available due to lack of rain or water. I understand nature happens but this should be very clear at time of booking that this is a possibility that the jacuzzi may not be used if it has not rained, or depending on the months, etc etc.
Then I could have opted for another type of room (less costly) or another resort. Since the jacuzzi was not available for use I had to leave a day earlier and spend an extra 900 at a beach bungalow at the Pearl, so we can have better romantic set up etc. Since the tub was
Very unique property with very thoughtfully and distinctively designed bungalows nested on a small private island with friendly sharks snorkelling with you every day. Very attentive and professional crew running your experience.
Lovely Robinson Crusoe-type bungalow on the sea with harmless baby black tip sharks swimming in the shallows in front of our room. The whole resort is a work of art.

Money Lost, No Stay, No Response from the Resort
We had a reservation at Ninamu Resort from June 29 to July 2, 2025. An airline strike on the very day of our flight to Tikehau prevented us from getting to the island. Already in Tahiti, we had to pay for last-minute accommodation on top of losing our booking.
We contacted the resort immediately. An employee advised us to go through Hotels.com, which later refused the refund. Since then, we have reached out directly to the resort multiple times with no response. No service provided, no follow-up, no respect. Very disappointing for a place with such a reputation. We hope this review will finally get someone to contact us.
WATCH OUT! Super bad vibes and super sneaky… If you didn’t make it early for breakfast it would run out… no fruits no jams no cheeses no breads…. And if you made it late to breakfast they wouldn’t even make you eggs although you payed for it because it’s included… also I mistakenly put only one person when I reserved and payed through Expedia..: DONT make that mistake because once there the extra rate they charge per person per night is way higher then the price in Expedia… I was charged 1500$ for three nights wen Expedia price for my specific room was 306$ and added the other person would literally just be 1000$ I told her she didn’t care when I asked I shared my strange experience to my dive guide he told me horrible stories of previous clientes being mistreated… and multiple complaints… example a lady finding RATS nest in the room and instead of being given option to change room the lady said well this is the jungle what do you expect so she said look my younger daughter and I will change hotel tomorrow she said okay but NO REFUND! For me personally she screamed SHHH as I was trying to ask why she was over charging and telling her that she should have let us pay from the start when we said but she INSISTED we pay in the end… obviously because she knew she would be overcharging and in the end there is not much to be done but if from the start we had known we would have just fixed the reservation on Expedia and payed online the normal rate… I DONT RECOMEND this place at all
Grazie a tutti!
Ninamu is a paradise! We spent five nights here with four adults and one kid (3 yo). The grounds are beautiful, the bungalows are uniquely designed (though some don't have AC fyi), the food is absolutely delicious, the staff are friendly and helpful, and there is plenty to do. We went out on an excursion nearly every day and still had plenty of time to relax on the beach and snorkel right out front of the resort. There are plenty of watercraft available to explore the island and surrounding waters (kayaks, SUPs, snorkel gear) and lovely beach-side bungalows in case you need some shade. Our favorite excursion was the coral garden, but we also enjoyed swimming with the manta rays and snorkeling in "the pass." The bungalows are clean, comfortable, and airy. The staff are great about providing anti-mosquito inscents (those coils you burn), which did help with the mosquitoes. Do bring bug-spray! We loved the food. Plenty of fresh fish prepared many different ways and scrumptious desserts. The chef kindly made separate, simple dinners for our young one who doesn't have a very adventurous palate. He also made me a delicious cake for my birthday!
The only hiccup was some confusion around booking the larger room, and this was probably my fault. The price is based on the number of people and the type of bungalow you want. We got it all sorted out on the island, so it was no big deal. Also, a coconut crab stole one of my daughter's water shoes - don't leave lightweight shoes outside!
