Tralee is the charming town of County Kerry. It is filled with historic attractions, pubs, bars and restaurants. Visit a mountain peak for spectacular views of the Dingle Peninsula. In the county museum, find a remarkable collection of priceless archaeological objects.

This town is famous for an international competition popular in Irish communities around the world. The Rose of Tralee is held in August every year as a celebration of Irish culture. It features street performances, markets, theater and fireworks. At the heart of the festival is a competition of influential young women competing to be crowned the Rose of Tralee.

Spend a day outside in Tralee Town ParkOpens in a new window in the town center. It features a garden of the senses, walking paths and a commemorative fountain. Find the spectacular rose garden, with one of the largest collections of roses in Ireland. Notice a statue honoring the first Rose of Tralee, Mary O’Connor, in the center of the park.

Tour the main gallery of the Kerry County Museum and see a bronze horn dating back to 3000 B.C. In the archaeology hall, learn how ancient relics are rediscovered using special tools. The museum features a medieval experience hall, where visitors gain an insight into the lives of Tralee residents in the 15th century. Walk through a detailed life-size display. Costumes are available for children.

Learn about the workings of the traditional Blennerville WindmillOpens in a new window. This magnificent structure is over 65 feet (20 meters) tall and open to the public to climb. Make a short drive from the center of Tralee to the windmill.

"We had a wonderful experience at Ballyseede Castle. The room and grounds were quiet and beautiful. We had a lovely dinner and breakfast there as well. There are miles of trails to explore as well. Would definitely come back if we’re in the area!"

"If you’re staying a few days this place would be great. Very spacious, fully stocked kitchen with appliances etc. lots of space. Bathroom in comparison and especially the shower were a bit small but still fine. Place is right at the end of the main strip of shops so good location."

Went to benners for dinner...good. best was bailys corner pub. 3 guys sitting around a table playing great Irish music. Gary the propriter was knowledgeavle, welcoming and wonderful.
