You can only know the tranquility of Rivendell when you are fully immersed into our home and the surrounding area. You will enjoy passing time in the warmth of our home, or Kayaking and paddle boarding on our lake. Fishing is a favored pastime, as well as sitting by the pool enjoying the sound of the waterfall and the coolness of the clear water.
“Rivendell was perfect, whether you liked food or sleep or story-telling or singing (or reading), or just sitting and thinking best, or a pleasant mixture of them all. Merely to be there was a cure for weariness."

The timber-frame wood brings warmth to your conversations, the tranquil waterfall by the pool brings peace to your swim, the bobbing turtles and scurrying fish bring movement to your time by the lake. The elements of the earth come together to make your stay more than you ever imagined. You will not want to leave.

Rivendell consists of the main house with four bedrooms,4 1/2 baths, open living/dining space with timber frames stretching to a 35 foot hight, sun room, rock terrace/patio, and screened porch. Property also has a boat house, and outdoor cooking shed.

Best week ever!!
There really are no words to describe the tranquility, beauty, pure outdoor fun this property offers. The pond has more fish than you can imagine to catch. The river is huge with a perfect little “water island” to set up chairs and watch the water flow by. The pool is such a nice reprieve after biking across the 50 acres or working out in the huge yard or cooking on one of the two grills. The house has an impeccable layout - a piano area, a screened in porch with swing chairs that our kids sat in reading for hours, multiple sitting books to wrap up with a book, play board games, put out a puzzle. The kitchen is amazing and the large inside and outside tables were excellent for family meals. Dwayne was as kind and responsive as you could ever ask for. We literally almost cried when we had to leave. This place is so so special. It was about a 40 min drive to Ruby Falls and 50 min to Chattanooga- and super easy!!!! Everyone deserves to have this experience!!! Thank you again Dwayne and Bella!

Wonderful Relaxing Weekend
We have stayed at Rivendell multiple times and as usual it was a wonderful family getaway. A fantastic place to relax and recharge! The house and property are awesome and the property manager Dewayne was very helpful and communicative.

A magical vacation at Rivendell!
Consider yourself lucky if you have come across this hidden gem. The photos don't do justice for this amazing property. After a cancelled family reunion, my extended family and I stayed here for a week. We didn't even want to leave the property. The pool, the pond, the hiking trails and the thoughtful spaces created everywhere made for the most relaxing vacation I have ever had. My kids loved swinging on the swings on the screened porch and the pool was a hit! So many spaces to gather as a family. Many nights we dined on the patio with string lights and the pond in the background. Any issue that came up was immediately addressed by DeWayne and Taylor-the property managers. To no fault of their own-the pool pump broke the day we arrived. The pool was still swimmable and they had a new pump installed by the morning on Monday when they were able to get the part. I consider that amazing because it can take a long time to do those things. They answered all of our questions and gave great ideas for my 4 and 5 year old. Everyone in our extended family enjoyed-even with varied interests! I'm already trying to figure out a way to get back. Don't let the number of reviews deter you from renting- the owners changed recently which is the only reason why this section isn't filled with 5-star reviews.

Private Family Getaway
Our family was seeking a quiet and secluded getaway with things to do for teen boys, & Rivendell was the Perfect Property. Everyone loved the property from Grandma to the kids. Tucked away in between beautiful North GA Mountain ridges, Rivendell has a unique vibe with its architectural design & property layout. We enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi, paddle boards, kayak, and the kids loved fishing. Great location to make family memories & I highly recommend the pizza from The Crushed Tomato in LaFayette! DeWayne was also extremely attentive to questions and requests. Thanks, Scholz & Jessee Family
