“First I want to say that I love that this hotel is not all modern and shiny. I love the lighthouse decor and the quilted, homey comforters. The views of the lake are great and it’s right on the Mariner’s Trail. All but one of the staff members that we met were great. That being said, I really wish the would do some “infrastructure” upgrades. First and foremost, new mattresses and/or at least, bed springs. Water saving toilets would also be a plus. “Can't beat the price! Clean room, hot shower. Spoke with the on-site manager. It's under new ownership and is being completely remodeled. Rooms have new bedding and towels while they renovate each room. ”

“Don’t let their online photos fool you. That super cute place doesn’t exist. Not by the water. Cooked to order breakfast. Premade warmed (slightly) omelet. Grey orange juice. Staff seemed to be high and smoking marijuana just outside the door. Good bones but not well run.”

“Harbor Lights Lodge has a back parking lot that is kitty corner from the start of the Ahnapee State Trail. This was very convenient as we were bicycling that trail. Room was clean (laminate wood floor) and quiet. Walking distance from restaurants and the harbor.”

“When I arrived, I was a little worried as it is an older hotel and just didn't have the curb appeal of most hotels. I was pleasantly surprised. It is an older hotel that appears to be in transition and trying to be updated. Don't get me wrong this is no 4 or 5 star hotel but it was clean, in a great location and the front desk staff was kind and courteous. For the price, this hotel was perfect. If you need a clean, cheap place to lay your head for the night, I recommend this hotel. If you are in……
