Schiestlhaus, Hochschwab, Styria, Austria 

Morning view south from Hochschwab summit (alt. 2.227 meters) in the middle of Hochschwab mountain range. It is the most northern part of Alps which rises over 2.000 meters of altitude. There are basically no lifts in the Hochschwab, so you can enjoy it in its natural state. In September the weather is quite stable (although quite windy and freezing in the morning in the top parts) and only few tourists which get such rewarding views for the pain of hiking it by own feet. “Wir hatten ein Kurzfamilienurlaub in Kreischberg in Oktober. Das Besuch hat uns sehr gut gefallen und haben gleich ein Wochenende in Januar für ein Skiurlaub gebucht. Leute waren sehr freundlich und die Wohnung war sauber und gemütlich. Das Hotel ist sehr kurze Laufweg von dem Skipisten. Es wird echt practisch sein bei unserem nächsten Besuch in Januar.”

Nicht verpassen darf man das Restaurant, mit tollen regionalen Produkten. Der Grillabend war definitiv mein Favorit. In den Hofwirt werde ich jederzeit sehr gerne wieder einkehren. “Wonderful apartment. However be careful booking ‘premium apartment’ as we booked the 1356 sq ft apartment and were given keys for the 700 sq ft apartment. No staff on duty when we arrived so spent first night in smaller apartment, which was very disappointing as we only had 3 nights and had driven for 2 days to get there. Otherwise highly recommend ”

Schiestlhaus, Hochschwab, Styria, Austria 

Morning view south from Hochschwab summit (alt. 2.227 meters) in the middle of Hochschwab mountain range. It is the most northern part of Alps which rises over 2.000 meters of altitude. There are basically no lifts in the Hochschwab, so you can enjoy it in its natural state. In September the weather is quite stable (although quite windy and freezing in the morning in the top parts) and only few tourists which get such rewarding views for the pain of hiking it by own feet.
