8/10 Good

"Situated just in front of the old city's main entrance, with parking. The staff was very kind."

Résidence Carmina

10/10 Excellent

"Bel endroit tranquille. Espace propre, confortable, sombre et assez moderne. Très grande salle de bain. Accessible aux personnes à mobilité réduite. Ascenseur. Stationnement sécurisé. À moins de 10 min de marche de la Cité médiévale. Je recommande. Le seul bémol est: instruments de cuisine est très très limité. Il manque: un égouttoir (pour les pâtes), un couteau tranchant et une casserole (avec couvercle) suffisamment grande pour cuire des pâtes pour 2 personnes. On s’est débrouillé mais cela aurait pu être plus facilitant. C’est dans une résidence pour seniors, mais ça ne pose aucun problème. J’y retournerais."

Hôtel Le Donjon - Coeur de la Cité Médiévale

8/10 Good

"The hotel was wonderful. The property itself was very interesting in a brilliant location. What let it down was the state of the bedroom and the bathroom. In a four-star hotel, you do not expect mold in the bathroom and stains and bald spots on the carpets in the bedroom. A nice hotel, a great location, but perhaps a little bit of updating needed in one of the bedrooms."

Hotel l'Octroi

8/10 Good

"The room was clean and staff very helpful. However, the room is very small and the bathroom is a wet room, meaning no separate shower from the rest of the bathroom. The shower wand is not user friendly and we didn’t realize when we turned on the water that it lterally sprayed across the room, wetting our bathroom countertop and personal items. No coffee in the room if you like having a cup first thing in the morning."

Tribe Carcassonne

8/10 Good

"The hotel has a great view of the castle and the roof top bar is definitely a bonus. The room was clean and have everything we needed however the toilet was in what can only be described as a cupboard with no space at all. The decor was too dark so much so that we couldn’t find the light switches! The carpet was black and when we dropped a black hair brush on the floor it took us 10 Minutes to find it!"

Comfort Aparthotel Carcassonne

10/10 Excellent

"This was terrific value for money and would happily stay again. While it's a good 15 mins or so up a hill from the station, for £40 or so, there's nothing at all to complain about- big rooms with cooking facilities, microwave and even a dishwasher should you need it, a lovely swimming pool and staff who were knowlegable and extremely helpful; particularly Guaytan , who couldn't have been more efficient and personable. All in all, very good."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Veraza?

The best area to stay in Veraza is the Historic Center, particularly around the Place de la République, for its centralized location and access to local amenities.

This area is the heart of Veraza, characterized by its narrow, winding cobblestone streets and well-preserved medieval architecture. You'll find many local shops, traditional restaurants, and cafes concentrated around the main square. The Veraza Cathedral, a prominent landmark, is also situated within easy walking distance.

Couples will find the Historic Center particularly appealing for its romantic ambiance and the convenience of stepping out to explore local markets or enjoy an evening meal. The compact nature of the area means most attractions are just a short stroll away, making it easy to enjoy the town's character without needing a car.

For travelers seeking a more tranquil setting with scenic views, the Outskirts of Veraza, especially properties located in the vineyards surrounding the town, offer a peaceful retreat. These accommodations often provide spacious grounds and panoramic views of the Veraza countryside.

When is the best time to go to Veraza?

The best time to go to Veraza is during the spring (April to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and comfortable for outdoor activities.

Spring in Veraza offers mild temperatures, blooming landscapes, and fewer crowds than the peak summer months. This is an excellent time for couples who enjoy exploring the region's natural beauty and vineyards without the intense summer heat. You'll find ideal conditions for hiking in the nearby Corbières mountains or enjoying leisurely walks through the village.

Early autumn also provides a delightful experience, with comfortable temperatures and the grape harvest season in full swing. This period is superb for those interested in local culture and culinary experiences, as many wineries offer tours and tastings.
