8.2/10 Very Good! (579 reviews)
Staff was lovely! Location is great. But there are some distinct minuses that I share here because I would want to know them myself.
a) Some rooms are great, some are not. Our room was tiny, cleaved-off from another room, and had uneven toe-stubbing floors (a sharp threshold from one section to another where the room had been created). The room had not enough space to navigate around the bed without bumping into the wall-mounted TV--extremely awkward. (Also very old carpet, which can never feel truly clean.)
The bathroom was poor design with a tiny shower "stall" (folding glass doors hinged to the wall) which flooded the whole bathroom floor. I'm a fan of old buildings with character, but we paid something like 270 Euros for that room, which is far too much. For a hostel price, this room would be fine - but if I am going to pay 270 Euro, I want to be comfortable.
Our second room was clean, renovated, and nicer.
b) Another consideration is noise; we were awoken at 2-3am by glass bottles being dumped/sorted in the recycling in the courtyard, likely by the bar downstairs. The bar downstairs also is fairly loud so if you were to have a room facing the street, you'd be in for a noise surprise.
The staff was really lovely. The cleaning lady works very hard and is kind, and the blond-haired woman at the front desk was also extremely nice. So if you stay here, I'd say to make sure you know which room you will be getting. That could make all the difference.
Happy travels!
