Thimble Rock Pointe

Historic vacation home in Whitewater
Nestled in the mountainside of an obscure Colorado canyon there is a place so fitting it literally rises from the rock the way a ship breaks a wave. Mimicking the geology and angular unconformity of the canyon walls, a harmonic relationship exists between roof pitch and steep granite cliffs. Built for the traveler who seeks more than shelter but an experience, the magic at Thimble Rock will evoke feelings of nostalgia, romance and a yearning to explore.
Air-conditioned accommodations at this vacation home offer coffee/tea makers and hair dryers. Rooms open to patios. Kitchens offer refrigerators, stovetops, and cookware/dishes/utensils. Bathrooms include showers.

This Whitewater property provides wireless Internet access for a surcharge. Smart televisions are featured in guestrooms.

Magical place in the middle of nowhere
My husband and I and two boys, ages 7 & 8, stayed here for 3 nights in July. What a perfect stay it was. The boys were able to explore the mountain the property is on, we grabbed all our groceries before arriving so we didn't have to leave. Everything needed to cook is in the kitchen. The gas grill was great for quick grilling. The scenery is just stunning, especially at sunrise. The only thing that troubled us a tiny bit is the a/c unit being over one of the beds. If the a/c is needed and turned on at night, it makes it really really cold for the bed that it's over. But the weather here is really nice in the evenings so it's not necessary to turn on a/c but we are from Houston and the blankets were a but thick for us. We will most definitely stay here again if we come back to this side of CO!
