Great place to stay. The free breakfast included hot food and not just the typical grab and go fare. This hotel also has excellent parking for trucks and trailers.

I have stayed at many different rooms in Sheridan, Burgess Junction, and Lovell. Budget Inn is my favorite now! The only small negative to me is on the back side the rooms are close to a working railroad track. Is owned by a family that works hard providing a pleasant stay, and improving the property. The wide parking spaces, the unique coffee cups and coffee, the oversized rooms, the cube plugins, the internet, the inner yard area, plumbing is older but works well, and the breakfast is great...

We stayed in The Industrial unit. This was one of our favorite stays on our 23 day trip. The decor is unique and so clever. The attention to detail in all is excellent.

I came for one night and extended my stay for a week. The owner and staff are incredibly kind. It's no frills. The location is spot on. (I don't have a vehicle) It's easy enough to access food , stores, and downtown. Accomodations are good. Well worth it. I'd return again. Checked all the boxes I needed while I passed through.

The best area to stay in Wolf is the immediate vicinity of the Wolf Creek ski area, which offers direct access to outdoor activities.
This area is essentially a compact village centered around the ski resort. You'll find accommodations, dining options, and equipment rentals all within a short walk or shuttle ride to the ski lifts. The main road through the area provides access to the ski base lodge and various lodging establishments.
For families, staying near the ski area is ideal. The convenience of being close to ski lessons, beginner slopes, and family-friendly dining means less travel time and more time enjoying the snow. Many properties offer ski-in/ski-out access, making it very easy to manage gear with children.
Couples looking for a mountain getaway will also appreciate this location. It offers a relaxed setting with opportunities for both active days on the slopes and quiet evenings by a fireplace.
When is the best time to go to Wolf?
The best time to visit Wolf, Wyoming, is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is warm and all the scenic byways and attractions are fully accessible.
During this peak season, temperatures are generally pleasant, ranging from the mid-60s to high 70s Fahrenheit, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, and wildlife viewing. The Beartooth Highway, a National Scenic Byway, is typically open during these months, offering breathtaking mountain views and access to Yellowstone National Park's northeast entrance. Travelers seeking an active outdoor experience will find this period great for exploring the region's natural beauty.
For those who prefer cooler weather and fewer crowds, late spring (May) and early fall (September to early October) can also be good options. While some higher elevation roads may still be closed in May or begin to close in October due to snow, these shoulder seasons offer a more tranquil experience with vibrant wildflowers in spring and stunning fall foliage.
