"第一印象としては思ったより幹線道路沿いにあるなと思いましたが、宿の中はとても静か。昔の豪農のおうち（文化財）を改築したようです。大浴場の景観も山側が見えるようにされています。スタッフの方々の気配りもとても良い印象でした。夕食は質実剛健といった感じ。お野菜多めで見た目も美しく、お味も上品。量控えめなのかなと思いきや、メインは赤身の新潟和牛をしっかりめに出してくださり、最後は美味しい白ごはんとけんちん汁。おなかいっぱいでした。朝食も種類が多いわけではないのですが、美味しい白ごはんとそのお供を中心に、ビュッフェスタイルでじゅうぶんなバリエーション。さらに席についたときに3種類から一品温かい主菜を選ばせてくれます。ラウンジでも時間によってパティスリー、ソフトドリンク、日本酒などを無料で提供。チェックアウト12時はとてもゆっくりできました。"

"The best thing about the hotel is the Onsen! The price was also reasonable. The hotel is a little on the worn side but still in good shape. It does have a shuttle to/from the echigo-yuzawa station but their hours are limited. The last pickup is 5:30pm if you miss that you will need to hire a taxi (expensive), take a bus (also limited hours) , take the local train to the iwapara station and then a 4 min walk to the hotel (the train is about 1 per hour) or you can walk to the hotel (about 45min)"

"A lovely Japanese style accomodation. Refreshing to see that shoes are off limits at the property and they provide good lockers for the shoes. Private baths and onsens are available for a soak after a day out to explore. Breakfast is good too though the timings of breakfast are a tad early but best way to start the day ! :)"

"Position is convenient for train and restaurants. Onsen area was fabulous alternating temperature between the 2 pools each day. All the personal care items you need. "Very economical hotel. Room was relatively spacious (compared to Tokyo), clean, and there is lots of free parking. There aren't very many reasons to come here as an overseas traveller but this is a decent option if you are passing through and it punches well above its price in terms of delivery. Small quibble, arrived a couple of hours early and asked if my room was available -- was told I _could_ check in early but I would be charged for each hour early. It's only a favour if it is available, but I think the deal generally is pay for a guarantee, but if a guest is a little early and the room has been cleaned, you check them in."

"Checkout staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The onsen was welcoming for foreigners and we were informed tattoos were okay too, which was an unexpected surprise. Amenities (including robe for the onsen) were provided and there were vending machines easily accessible as well. Short walk to Yuzawa Station so it was very convenient. Compared to other properties in the area, it was nice to stay in a hotel with a private bathroom for only a slight price increase from hostel-style accommodations. Would recommend!"
