Franck is an exceptional host. He met us on the first day to help acclimate us to beautiful Amboise with a warm welcome, a nice bottle of Loire sparkling wine and sweets, and great recommendations for what to do in this lovely part of France. The property is delightful - imagine going to sleep with a view of the lit up Chateau Amboise filling the wall of windows facing the city and then waking to the sunrise over the same chateau. So lovely. The kitchen was well appointed and a perfect place to hang out and cook or eat delicious pastries and cheese from the Sunday market. The terrace was a lovely place to have a nice Loire wine or beer each night. Just down at the bottom of the hill are a couple of deicious restaurants as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend Franck and this historic gite.

Incredible!

I stayed at Franck's property with my girlfriend and her parents. We had an absolutely amazing time, the location is unbeatable, a short walk to everything Amboise has to offer. The view is perfect, and the beds were comfortable. Franck was great and made us feel very welcome, we will absolutely be returning! :)

Above and beyond!

My husband and I visited Amboise with our two teenage daughters, and from the moment of our arrival, Franc was the most amazing host. The space was perfect for our family of four including two teenage daughters, who enjoyed the cave bedroom! The view and the gardens were our favorite part - and we were delighted with two bottles of wine that Franc left us from local wineries! I would absolutely recommend his home for your stay in Amboise!

We love the location, the layout of the house in such a beautiful setting. Amboise is beautiful city

Location, location, location. We have friends that live in Amboise, they were steps away from us. So many restaurants to choose from and so many beautiful walks. The troglodyte was an interesting concept for a rental property. It certainly intrigued my friends and I. One thing that would have been helpful was a booklet that explained all of the amenities for the house.

Vue imprenable et qualité de l'accueil

Vous irez pour la vue sur le château dont l'aspect change à toutes les heures de la journée au gré de la lumière. Et vous y retournerez pour le sens de l'accueil des hôtes. A special place in a magical setting

This property has it all- a unique and comfortable setting with a great view of the Amboise castle; a perfect location in town to walk to nearby sites and a fantastic host. Our kids loved staying in the “cave” floor! Franck is an excellent host. Don’t miss the opportunity to stay here if it is available.

Perfect family base for exploring châteaux

We really enjoyed our stay! The house is perfectly positioned for views of the Royal Chateau and surrounds. Amazing - especially at night with the lights! It’s a short stroll to the shops, river and restaurants. The house was comfortably warm, well equipped and original in design. We were very warmly welcomed by Franck and appreciative of his guidance about how to make the most of our time. We are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers and recommend this property.

A wonderful space with a fantastic view!

Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay in Franck's gite. It is multi-leveled. The bottom level is a cave, where there is a beautiful cave bathroom and a (literally) cool bedroom with two twin beds. There is spiral staircase up to the next level, which opens up to a large living space that has a dining table, a full kitchen and a full wall of glass windows with an amazing view of the Chateau d'Amboise. There are sliding doors in the glass windows that open up to a terrace, so you can sit in the great room and have it completely opened up to the outside. There is also a half-bath on this level and there is a fold-out couch so you could have people sleep here too. Then there is another spiral staircase up to a loft that has a queen-sized bed. From the loft you continue to have the view of the castle. During our stay here they were doing light shows on the castle and we had a great view from here. This is a very convenient place to stay in Amboise. It is just a short walk into the center of town, you have your own parking space and Franck is an extremely helpful and kind host. It's a great choice for a family!

Wonderfull view and nice hosts

We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment in Amboise. It's a nice town with historical atmosphere and the apartment has an amazing view. The nearby medieval towns and castles are great. We can recommend the local bakery l'Horloge and there is a supermarket within 5 minutes walking. Franck and his wife are wonderful hosts, who make you feel very welcome, give a lot of information and Franck speaks english very well. The apartment consists of three levels; the basement is traditionally build like a cave, so it's more cold and moist. We mostly stayed in the upper levels, which have the wonderful view. We notified Franck that we have a baby and they provided everything we needed, which is very nice. The couch is not that comfortable, but the apartment is very well equipped overall. Try the eggs from the chickens in the yard, they are very tasty.

Great place to stay

Great hosts, apt is close to downtown, walking only 5 minutes. Apt is new, and has great views of castle. Wonderful patio to spend time over a glass of wine. Kitchen has everything u need Bathroom large and lovely 2 bedrooms with comfortable bedding.

gigantischer Ausblick

Wir (2 Erwachsene und ein Baby) waren vom 8.10.-11.10.2016 in dem Loft. Der Ausblick ist fantastisch und schon allein deshalb sollte man dort einmal übernachten! Die Bilder in der Anzeige entsprechen der Realität. Alle Räume sind offen gestaltet; das Badezimmer und die zusätzliche Toilette sind durch Türen vom Wohnraum abgetrennt. Die Räume im Obergeschoss sind lichtdurchflutet. Das Schlafzimmer im Untergeschoss besticht durch das außergewöhnliche Ambiente, das durch die Restauration entstanden ist. Dies gilt auch für das Badezimmer. Das Loft ist sehr geschmackvoll und modern eingerichtet; die Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit; er spricht fließend englisch. Die Kommunikation vorab per E-Mail verlief reibungslos. Es gibt viele Ausflugsmöglichkeiten, die der Vermieter gern erklärt; man kann aber auch einfach stundenlang auf den Sonnenstühlen vor dem Loft sitzen und den einmaligen Ausblick genießen. Wir werden bestimmt noch ein zweites Mal dort übernachten. Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit, Franck!
