“This is my second time in Tortuguero but my first at Mawamba. I’d seen the beautiful grounds before and wanted to experience it in person, This is a nature lovers paradise! The grounds are beautifully maintained with native plants, lots of walking trails which are inviting to so much wildlife including toucans, orenpendula, parrots, macaws, red eyed tree frogs and so much more.
Tortuguero National Park is a short walk away and I went there often. But I love the tours that Mawamba offers,……

“We had a fantastic stay loved the boat ride to the lodge, rooms were spacious, lovely big bathroom
Balcony had a lovely swinging seat overlooking the river
Breakfasts were fruit plus fish of your choice and was excellent
Trails around the hotel were great to see frogs and birds
We did a fantastic magical kayaking trip which is a must
We visited national park to see turtles laying eggs, unfortunately she Borykng the hole before laying eggs but we did see the turtle going back to the sea and……

“Very helpful and courteous staff. I was lost driving to the boating dock, and they called me several times to check my location and give directions. They even arranged for a boat late at night to get to the island.”
