"We stayed in a ground-floor room. The laminate flooring was already swollen from the damp and smelled musty. The patio door couldn't be locked. The shower cubicle didn't have a sliding door. " The exterior of the hotel is beautiful, but the rooms are low quality. Very old decor with bits of the wall & ceiling filled in with filler. The air conditioning didn't work. There were exposed wires. Rusty handles. Bathroom shower water temperature was irregular. Bedsheets were old, unironed and they weren't changed regularly. Swimming pool isn't cleaned and hotel guests rarely go in the pool. We had to sometimes ask for towels. The manager says the rooms are fully booked and say they can change the next day, but it didn't happen. This was the same opinion of another guest. Hotel staff are generally nice. The breakfast is decent. The dinner is also good. The hotel food overall is good quality. Santa Maria is around 15 mins walk from the hotel. The road to the hotel is sandy. The environment around the hotel is like a building site. Santa Maria beach is 20-25 minutes walk."
