From sports events and music gigs to a blossoming craft-beer culture, find a hive of activity in this inner-city neighbourhood.

Milton is home to some of Queensland’s most popular sporting venues and boasts plenty of great places to eat and drink.

Feel the electric atmosphere as the crowds go wild at Suncorp Stadium. No trip to Brisbane would be complete without watching local teams, the Broncos, Wallabies or the Roar, battle it out at this iconic sporting arena. Suncorp Stadium also hosts big-name music acts so check what’s on before you arrive in Brisbane.

At the end of the match or gig, follow the other fans up to the popular nightlife area of Caxton Street, where you can relive event highlights and dance the night away to live music.

Enjoy a sunny morning at the Milton Markets on Cribb Street. Sample the offerings at the food stalls or shop for handicrafts made by local artisans. Burn off some energy with a stroll down the Milton section of the Riverwalk. This elevated boardwalk hangs right over the water and it’s easy to see why it remains so popular with local cyclists and joggers.

Indulge in a night of fine dining on Park Road. This strip of cafés and restaurants has long been a major draw for foodies in the area. Make sure you snap a photo in front of the scaled-down Eiffel Tower at the famous La Dolce Vita restaurant.

Sip your way through a guided Craft-Beer Walking Tour around the suburb, where you’ll be inspired by the passion behind these local boutique breweries.

If you consider yourself a bit of a beer aficionado, then you’ll definitely want to take a XXXX Brewery Tour as well. Find out what’s inside the famous XXXX brick building that has dominated the Milton skyline since the 1940s. Have a look at brewery equipment from previous centuries in the factory museum and see the laboratory where the magic happens. Finish your time at the brewery with a tasty lunch at the on-site restaurant and bar.

Keep the history theme going by making a trip to see Christ Church. This heritage-listed wooden church was built in 1891 and is tucked away beside the stadium on nearby Hale Street.

Milton is well connected to downtown Brisbane by bus, ferry and train. You could even walk into the heart of the city from this lively suburb.
