There are lots of things to see and do in Gatun, but head farther afield and you'll find more sightseeing magic. Grab a set of wheels and you can roam around the surrounding region at your leisure. Add these fantastic places to your travel schedule:

• You'll discover Metromall Panama and many other amazing attractions in San Miguelito. From Gatun, it's roughly 35 miles away.
• Your next stop? Santiago, which is around 110 miles away. Escuela Normal Juan Demostenes Arosemena is one local draw card you won't want to miss.
• Get out into the great outdoors and inhale the fresh air at Venao Beach. You'll find it about 130 miles from Gatun.
