There's so much to do in Uptown, but venture farther afield and you'll find more sightseeing magic. Organize a set of wheels and you can meander around the greater area at your own pace. Add these awesome destinations to your list:

• You'll discover British Columbia Parliament Building and countless other amazing sights in Victoria. From Uptown, it's approximately 60 miles away.
• About 45 miles away, Nanaimo is also a hit with wanderers. Allow time to take in Woodgrove Shopping Centre while you're here. It's one of the reasons people love visiting this vibrant city.
• Get into the outdoors and breathe in some fresh air at Chesterman Beach. It's approximately 130 miles from Uptown.

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in Canada, then you might need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country to be allowed to rent a car.
