“The hotel is in an idyllic setting and well presented. Sadly, the spa facilities are only available to guests who purchase a treatment. There was some confusion with communication: I received an email telling me the hotel was closed after I had booked and indeed there was a sign at the entrance of the hotel indicating it was closed, when it was not. “Hotel was very clean & pleasant,room was clean & tidy, however info stated that room would be ready from 15:00, we were delayed by traffic & booked in at 16:25 to be told that room was not ready. We went for a drink in the bar & receptionist said she would phone when ready. As we were attending a function from 14:00-18:00 3 miles away we waited until 17:25 but room was still not ready. “If you like old and quirky then this place is ideal! Yes it’s a little tired and could do with a little tlc in places but the bed was comfortable (which for me is a huge plus). It’s in a very convenient location for walking around town. Plenty of cafes etc nearby as well as Sainsbury’s and Co-Op. ”
