The restaurant was very interesting and good , breakfast was so delightful with all the fruits and choices to eat. It is a 5 star excellent hospitality. The outside pool was lovely as well as indoor spa. Not hot but refreshing. ”

“Cleanliness has room of improvement. There are ants in room and blood stain and hair were found in linen and towel. After telling the hotel staff, cleaning lady has made the room more tidy”

“Really good apart-hotel, the room had good cooking equipment. The mattress was a bit on the hard side. There's a minimarket at the hotel but there's also a Pingo Doce a few minutes' walk. ”

“We were welcomed and given a tour of the historic hotel by the front desk upon arrival. The room upgrade was to a suite overlooking the bay. The room, bed, and bath were clean and comfortable. A small gift arrived each day of our stay. The 1891 Bar proved to be an excellent alternative as we preferred early and smaller dinners. The Christmas brunch had excellent food options; it was a buffet next to the pools. The staff were most helpful on check out, holding our luggage until our rental car……

“Perfectly situated hotel as we enjoy a stroll into the centre,lots of buses if you prefer to ride.Lots of good eating places nearby.Hotel itself friendly and welcoming,clean in all areas and very spacious suite with balcony to sit in the sun.Excellent choices at breakfast buffet and staff filling things up as they get low and clearing tables efficiently.All in all a lucky find for our time in Funchal.”
