Santa Croce Place is an apartment to rent in via dei Macci nust steps to the square and the marvelous cathedral of Santa Croce in Florence. A home ideal for short term rentals capable to accommodate up to 5 people thanks to a double bed, a single sofa bed anda double sofa bed. This house has a modern full bathroom with shower and a very well equipped kitchen; not far from the apartment you will find the market of Sant'Ambrogio where you can buy many local products. The house was recently renovated and is equipped with internet Wi-Fi, many domestic appliances (TV, oven etc.) and independent heating.

Andrea is a wonderful host

We there there for only two days but had a wonderful time. Andrea is a great host and lives on the property. I highly recommend the apartment.

Great stay!

Centrally located to multiple restaurants, stores, train station and the Basilica. Very clean. Had all the amenities we needed. Enjoyed our stay thoroughly!

Retirement Research

This trip was about finding out if we could live an ordinary retirement in Italy. This apartment went a long way to helping with that process. Totally loved the apartment and the location. Next to the market for day-to day shopping but close enough in for evening social scene.

Incredible Stay in Florence!

This apartment was very spacious and clean and looked just like the listing images. The location was close to the Santa Croce as described and felt safe. It was easy to access and the check-in process was easy. One small thing is that there is a washer but no dryer, so if you plan on doing your laundry, be prepared to let your clothes air dry for a day or so. Overall, my friends and I really enjoyed our visit here!

False Advertising

The apartment was advertised as a two bedroom, to sleep five and it was a one bedroom - barely slept two, with very uncomfortable cot in the middle of the living room- near kitchen. We only stayed one night though we had booked for two. It was unacceptable and we will be requesting our money back.

Not what was described

We had to wait outside ( not in a nice neighborhood) for the the owner open the door ( no door code) ,the location was not what was described. The apartment was not ready when we arrived ,we arrived around 5:30 pm and the cleaning crew was inside finishing cleaning. Bathroom very small and bed not very comfortable.

Nice property and location

Apartment is in a great location, about a 10 min walk from most attractions and 15 min from the Arno river. Check in process was clean and communicating with the host was straightforward. Unit was clean. Few things to note - no handsoap or coffeemaker was provided. Our stay was during early July, and the apartment was very hot. We were aware that air conditioning was not installed in the listing, but more than two fans should be provided. Also, all the windows should have screens installed as mosquitoes were able to enter the unit when the windows were opened during the day. The bath is also quite small, and only one person could use it at a single time.

Great for students, terrible for the rest of us.

First, the positives: The proximity to all Florence has to offer is great. Really couldn't ask for more on that end of things. Check-in was good and the hosts were very responsive prior to our arrival. Unfortunately, the negatives outweighed these for us. Couple things that the ad doesn't tell you: 1. The rest of the building is students. Our first night, we got 3 hours of sleep...maybe. There was a party above us that went until 5:30am. I contacted the hosts and asked if we could move for our second night and they said that "unfortunately we have no control on what the other occupants of the building do...hence, we cannot provide a refund." (They also mentioned that they could warn them and also call the police and suggested we do the same.) I knocked on doors the next day and found out it's all students. Had I known this was the case, I'd never have rented it in the first place. I don't blame them for playing hard - we were in their territory. 2. The bathroom is tiny. As in, there's no possible way to dry off after a shower without your towel brushing up against the toilet and/or bidet. That is, if you FIT in the shower. If you're at all overweight, forget it. 3. The cleaners came in without permission to pick up the prior occupants' laundry, then showed up early while we were packing and again let themselves in. Nothing like someone else entering your room without permission to make you feel like your belongings aren't secured. Buyer beware.
