"The listing said there was a playground on site and there was no playground. This was the main reason I choose this place. The front step was broken, so almost tripped a few times. There were no garbage bags and on 1/10 of a roll of toilet paper (not enough for 4 days). When I called they said they’d bring some out and they never did. It smelled. The temperature in the shower when from cold to hot fast. Beds were not comfortable. "

"Exactly what we were looking for. A bit remote but gorgeous surroundings. Rustic chic looking but with modern amenities. Epitome of peaceful and cozy. Hosts even provided a Christmas Tree!"

Respect the house, switch on the pump if you light the fire, and yes I loved the wood smoke smells, it is mostly round the fire, if the fire is only embers you can switch off the pump, it's circulating the hot water from the fire, I was able to see local interests and the wonderful fresh air, excellent countryside. The ruin of Carmicheal House makes me wonder at its one time beauty, and it's just a short walk to from the cottage,...

She recommended the local chippy for our tea - which we can confirm was excellent! My girls especially loved the Games Room which was exceptionally well equipped. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend."
