Unfortunately, like much of the infrastructure on this island, it is rundown. The air-conditioning wall unit in our room worked well and kept the room nice and cold. Frankly, that was the highlight of the room. Geckos on the wall, towel service only every third day, a mediocre breakfast service without even eggs and lukewarm weak coffee and extremely laid back/lackadaisical staff were the norm. The bathroom had a god-awful stench that would not disappear even if you kept the bathroom door closed 24/7\. Three days in the room stopped having any hot water and it took them in an additional three days to get us lukewarm water again.
