“Really fun place to stay. Gave us a nice taste of old Detroit. Owners have done a great job with the MoTown theme throughout the house, we used all of the juke boxes. Took a Uber to Tiger game and spent both evenings hanging at house. Used porches in morning and evenings. Location is very convenient for exploring Detroit. Highly recommend this place!”

“We traveled to Detroit to see the Black Crowes show at the Fillmore and spend a weekend together with family. Our stay at the Lumber Baron's Mansion was phenomenal. The location is excellent for any/all downtown activities and there's plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. Our host was extremely responsive and provided very clear communication. The interior was beautiful and well equipped. Highly recommended, will stay here again!”

“Such a beautiful, well kept home with an attentive hostess. Yvette and her sister were dedicated to us enjoying ourselves. All of our needs were met. Although the house was in an up and coming neighborhood, the neighbors were quiet and we felt safe prompting me to give it a 5 star rating for location and neighborhood. It was an ideal location for visiting the Henry Ford museum about 19 miles away.”

“The house is very well maintained, as is the exterior of the house. There was plenty of room for all 11 of us, and the house has some great character! Everything was as advertised. The host was exceptional and very accommodating. A family member was coincidentally staying at another property owned by the host that same weekend, and had similar excellent things to say. I will definitely reach out to the host again when traveling back to Detroit. Bonus, the property is right on the Detroit Golf……

“My fiance and I came to Detroit in the summer because we are touring all of the baseball stadiums in the US. The stay was very spacious, communication was easy, and building/parking felt safe. Only issue was how hot the room was. Despite the (very old) AC that was in the unit, it was not enough to adequately cool the space - it was so hot it was hard to sleep.”

I am not picky at all but the fact that I booked for over 1 week and had to leave 3 hours into my stay was a horrible experience. Owner did not want to refund nor reimburse. Attached pictures to my Expedia complain and working on a reimbursement. ”
