"The clerks were very welcoming and pleasant. Check in was done with a smile comfortably sitting outside on the balcony with a drink. The room assigned to this old guest had a beautiful bathroom but the tub was not practical for me. I was immediately transferred to an equally beautiful room with a balcony with a splendid view of the mountain range AND a very nice walk-in shower. I loved the friendliness and the majestic mountains. Chandolin boutique hotel exceeded my expectations."

"We hadn’t realised how far out at the end of a route Kandesteg was and as we were limited to the amount of hiking we could do had booked an overlong stay. We tried to shorten our visit but couldn’t do so without sacrificing our payment. The receptionist was unbelievably good. She spent an hour planning an itinerary for us and as a better room was available gave us a free upgrade The breakfast was very good with scrambled eggs and bacon if you were early and a good continental selection The dining room only opened on Friday and Saturday night and was slightly overly rich The Blumisalp across the street was much better and better value for eating"

"Beautiful property, the location was breathtaking! Amazing views! The apartment is gorgeous and spacious! Kitchen had everything you need! Beds were comfortable! Coop market downstairs is perfect! You can grab fresh breakfast and anything else you need! We would definitely come back !!"

"The hotel is conveniently located near the train station. It was nice to come back to our room from a long day hiking and sightseeing and only had a short walk from the train station. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good. Our room was spacious and clean. We would come back again."

"We stayed in the separate studio across the street that has cooking facilities. The room was relatively clean, but there was a lot of dust and dead insects visible on the part of the wood bed frame near our heads. The fridge wouldn’t stay closed and the hair dryer didn’t work. Our bathroom sink soap dispenser was empty and it did not get refilled for the 4 nights we stayed, even though I requested a refill on day 2. If you can live with all this, you cannot beat the location for convenience to town and the buses. The studio unit is below the street level so very quiet. The breakfast is ok, although this is a very busy hotel and they were constantly running out of cups, silverware, etc. during the breakfast hours. We had one dinner in the hotel (at an inside table) and I’ve never dealt with so many flies. Sit outside at this restaurant if you can. Lauterbrunnen was the highlight of our visit to Switzerland despite this hotel, but if you can afford something better I would."
