This charming four-bedroom, three-bathroom beach duplex brings the charm of the 70s retro beach vibe with all of the modern amenities. Beach and sound views abound from the upper deck making it an ideal place to watch the sun rise, have cocktails at sunset or watch the 4th of July fireworks. Less than 200 steps to beach access, the house is close to restaurants, coffee shops, stores, and other activities.

On the ground floor, guests will find the enclosed outdoor shower, which is perfect for rinsing off the sand after a day at the beach. The first floor of the home features three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a furnished balcony. On the second level, guests will find the main living space, one bedroom, one bathroom, and a second deck with beach views. The cheerful living room offers comfortable chairs and a sofa, a TV, and a gorgeous coffee table. This is a great gathering spot for families and friends - plan your next adventures, enjoy a cup of coffee together, or simply share a wholesome time with the ones you love. The kitchen is complete with all stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher and a coffee maker. And last, but definitely not least, the upper level has a nice lounge area with a sofa, a TV, a bar-height table for two, and a wet bar with a mini-fridge. From here, guests can access the beachfront upper deck.

Don’t rent

The house was full of dog hair. Clumps everywhere. Ants in the kitchen, mold in the ice maker, beds and furniture were very hard and uncomfortable. However there were nice views from the 2nd and 3rd floor, and very convenient to restaurants and the beach.

Spacious Beach house

Great customer service, plenty of room for big family vacation. Well stocked kitchen, beautiful views of the ocean. Only thing we didn’t like was the parking, it fits three vehicles but you park in a row, not convenient if anyone wants to leave- you would all have to move to let them leave.

Not an overall great experience with staff help.

The house would be nice if it was cleaned better and I did not need to fix the elevator after driving 6 hours. I requested a working vacuum to get all the hair out of the rugs and did not get a reply. I put my grand daughter on the rug to play and every time she picked up a different hair either human or animal.

Not clean

Could be a nice place. It was dirty. The floors were black if wiped with a damp rag. Rugs were full of hair and there was not a working vacuum to clean them. Elevator was out of service had to repair so my wife and I could use because we can not do a lot of stairs. Local staff was not helpful. Missing 2 fire alarms. Only 1 fire extinguisher. One bathroom tub was clogged. The master shower drain cover came off when I ran my foot over it a foot could be hurt by it. Location was nice.
2 foot of wiping baseboard.
Hair that was swept off 1 set of stairs. Hair does not belong to any family members.
Missing fire alarm in kitchen.
Cigar found on refrigerator.

Beautiful dog friendly home

To be off-season, the place needed to be cleaner. I’m betting the owners will be disappointed if they read the more detailed review done on the management’s site, Vacasa. Other than that, excellent location. Would be nice to have a Keurig in addition to the regular coffee maker.

We Would Stay Again!

The house and location were great! Beach access was very close and easy to walk to. Our 3-year old could easily carry her toys for the short walk to the beach. Good location on the island, well-appointed and well-decorated. We stayed for 2 weeks and it was a great fit for us with the sufficiently stocked kitchen and washer and dryer. You could walk into town easily to enjoy restaurants and town-hosted events. We would absolutely consider staying here again. Just be warned that a large group my find the water heater lacking if you have a bunch of people wanting to shower back to back. Overall the house was very clean.

House was very nice! Lot's of stairs.. complaint is with Vacasa. got up to use the coffee pot the first morning and it was broken. The elevator quit working the day before we checked out and neither issue was resolved.would not recommend Vacasa

Perfect Location

This home was exactly as advertised! Convenient to beach access by a short walk of less than 3 minutes. Also, within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. The layout was perfect for our party of 6 with enough room to spread out on each level. The view from the sundeck was amazing - you can see the turquoise blue water of the Atlantic on one side and the beautiful sunsets over the sound on the other side. They had chairs, a wagon, umbrella and boogie boards that we definitely used the whole week. Kitchen is well stocked and the added air fryer was a bonus! The outdoor shower was perfect for rinsing off after a day at the beach and getting sand out of our suits. We will definitely be staying at Follow the Sun when we are back at Topsail Island again!

Great Stay

The house was clean and much closer to beach access than we expected. There were only 3 of us, including our dog, so not sure how it would work for larger groups. The common areas (living room/dining room) are a little small, but were perfect for us. The location is great - close to the beach, shopping, grocery stores, and Surf City. The elevator was great too. This was our 5th time to Topsail island and our 1st elevator. The rooftop deck was great. The beds were very comfortable. Linens were great, as was the toilet paper, paper towels, dish and laundry soap, bar soap and shampoo, coffee filters, and trash bags. We brought all, not expecting them to be be there when we arrived. We would definitely stay here again.

Beach house

Everything was great with the exception of having no trash bags, paper towels, or kitchen sponge. The elevator didn’t work for two days which made it difficult for my 84 yr old mother who had to walk all of the stairs. After it was fixed all was good. The kitchen lacks some basic items: need larger frypan for bigger meals for multiple individuals, cookie sheet, hand mixer, coffee pot. Went for Thanksgiving and had to go to the store to get basic things that should have been in the house (supplies). Reached out to the property mgmt company the night we arrived. Nothing could be done until the day after Thanksgiving. Even with these things, would definitely stay again. Very quiet location and only about a block or two to the beach.
