This is a great location for the North rim of the Grand Canyon. We stayed in the hotel portion of the lodge. Room was clean and the lodge restaurant and bakery are great.
Since the fire on the North Rim in 2025, the Jacob Lake Lodge has been BUSY. We stayed in the motel part of the property in the forest. Somewhat rustic, but updated, we worked a bit with the HVAC unit, but figured it out. Our corner room was excellent. We had dinner and breakfast, both served at a leisurely pace, but tasty and enjoyable. The staff were all personable and helpful.
The staff were all among the most professional, humanistic, and attentive people of staff I've experienced in 50 countries and nearly all states visited. They were charming, food and souvenir prices on site were fair or great, and food quality and service were top of the line. The room balconies facing the forest were appreciated and the nearby North Rim was truly a beautiful wonder of the world, albeit fire scarred in many areas.
It is the only lodging available, felt like camping in the woods but at a $170 fee to camp. Dirty linens left behind our bathroom door, room was so dusty and beds were aged. Didn't sleep well. Told the staff about the dirty linens and they just said they'll let housekeepers know.
Cute little cafe had great service from young college ladies and good food.
We loved our room at the Jacob Lake hotel. We had two large windows in our room, and everything was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Loved the delicious free coffee in the morning, which we picked up at the Inn restaurant. We found the staff to be very helpful, and they were so nice to talk to as we bought our delicious cookies in the Inn store -- so many wonderful choices! It's a great place to stay when you visit the North Rim of the Grand Canyon!
