Kapaa town adds local restaurants, bakeries, and a lived-in island feel. Staying here puts you in a useful middle spot for heading north toward the beaches or south to Lihue, then coming back to the shore.



Getting Around:

Kapaa sits along Kauai's Royal Coconut Coast, about 15 to 20 minutes from Lihue Airport. A rental car is recommended for exploring the island, though the main strip along Kuhio Highway is walkable, with beaches, shops, restaurants, and the popular coastal path all within easy reach on foot. Grocery stores and casual dining are close by. Parking is generally available at condos and along the street, making this an easy, low stress base.
