In this fun and entertaining zone, specialty coffee shops and cocktail bars line busy streets around a shopping village.

While in Kuala Lumpur plan to visit Bangsar, an affluent and cosmopolitan area filled with luxury apartments, upscale galleries and international restaurants. Right beside Little India, the district is a hub of culture, with museums, temples and parks. Go shopping in the afternoon and explore the range of bars and restaurants as evening falls.

Browse the varied stores and enjoy a hot drink in a charming café in the Bangsar Shopping Village, which includes Bangsar Village and Bangsar Village II. The malls have a mix of upscale and more affordable brands, as well as a supermarket. Purchase cocktails in the bars and clubs in the area around the shopping development. Have snacks and drinks in the Art Printing Works, a hub of halls, parks and events.

For a glimpse of the spiritual side of the district, visit the Arulmigu Sri Ramalingeswarar Temple. The Hindu house of worship offers a serene spot for meditation. Walk southwest for half an hour, passing the Gardens Mall and the TM Convention Centre, to reach the Menara Telekom. The skyscraper is 1,017 feet (310 meters) tall and contains a large theater and prayer hall.

Explore the residential neighborhoods of Bangsar for a glimpse of how some of the wealthiest Kuala Lumpur local residents live. The undulating Taman Bukit Pantai zone is lined with upscale bungalows, while the Bangsar Park community is flat and tranquil. Head east through the Little India section and learn about the country’s history in the National Museum of Malaysia.

Find Bangsar a little southwest of the center of Kuala Lumpur. Ride the train to Bangsar Station or the main transportation hub of Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station. Consider taking a bus to one of the many stops in the zone. Explore the surroundings and enter other nearby districts such as Brickfields, Bukit Damansara and Kampung Attap.
