Larcomar is a shopping center with an extraordinary location on the edge of the mossy cliffs that overlook the Pacific Ocean. Its design is so original that it won the award for Innovative Design in Construction from the International Council of Shopping Centers. It houses around 160 shops with an eclectic range of themes, from upmarket boutiques to charming stores selling Peruvian handicrafts. There is a general upmarket-and-exclusive theme that corresponds with the wealthy Miraflores area. The mall features a cinema, a theater, a gallery, an arcade and a bowling arena.
Gaze out at the panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean from inside the mall. The vista is completely unobstructed and generates the sensation of being in a ship out at sea – without the waves. Larcomar is situated by the cliffs and bays of the affluent Miraflores area in the southwest of Lima. It is a 7-mile (11.3-kilometer) taxi journey south from the historic center of the city, where you can find the Cathedral of Lima and the Government Palace. The journey should take around 20 minutes. There are many glamorous shops, restaurants and hotels in the Miraflores area.
